Sydney Sixers to win
Tournament: Big Bash League 2021-22 | Format: T20 | Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Australia | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowWe are in the final stages of the league games in the Big Bash League 2021-22. The Adelaide Strikers have made a strong comeback in the tournament, and they would look to book a berth in the playoffs with a win against Sydney Sixers. The Strikers defeated the Melbourne Stars in the last game while the Sixers come here with a win against Sydney Thunder
The Sydney Sixers have enjoyed an excellent record against Adelaide Strikers in the past. They have won the last seven games between the two sides, and this would add to their confidence. It will be interesting to see if the Strikers can break out of this poor record and win this game.
It has been three wins in a row for Peter Siddle’s side and this has opened their chances of making it to the playoffs. They defeated the Melbourne Stars by 23 runs in the last game to move to 4th place on the points table. The side would face a tougher batting against the Sixers and Siddle would want his players to deliver their best and make it to the next round.
Matthew Short has looked good with the bat and he would aim to set up a good opening wicket stand with Matt Renshaw here. In the middle order Ian Cockbain, Jake Weatherald, and Jonathan Wells add good strength to this batting line-up and runs would be expected from them. Thomas Kelly and Harry Neilsen are good hitters and they will have to do well against the Sixers’ strong bowling attack.
It was good efforts from the new ball pair of Short and Harry Conway who scripted the victory for the side and they will aim to bowl similar spells in this game. Henry Thornton produced a great spell in the last game and he would be confident. With Siddle and Fawad Ahmed in the mix, they have a decent attack heading into this contest.

Moises Henriques’ side has done well in the tournament. They are already through to the playoffs and the side comes here with a magnificent 60-run win against the Sydney Thunder in their last game. They have had an excellent record against the Strikers and Henriques would like to add one more jewel to the crown with a win here.
Josh Phillippe and Jack Edwards would need to set a good opening wicket stand and Phillippe has been the best batsman for the side this season. Daniel Hughes and Henriques would be confident after their good knocks in the last game. Daniel Christian, Jordan Silk, and Sean Abbott add punch to this batting line-up and they would look to add quick runs down the order.
Jackson Bird and Sean Abbott have done well as a new ball pair and the same would be expected from them in this game. Steve O’Keefe was brilliant in the last game and he would look to keep the scoring rate under check in the middle overs with Christian and Ben Dawrshuis. Henriques and Hayden Kerr add good variety to this attack.

Weatherman predicts overcast skies over Adelaide on January 17. The wicket is expected to be flat, and batsmen are likely to enjoy batting on this wicket. The side batting first in this game would look at a total of 170 or more to feel confident.
Adelaide Oval has short boundaries around the square and batsmen have always done well in this venue where big scores have been made. There is some assistance for the fast bowlers with the new ball. It is a very challenging venue for the spinners and they have had a poor record here.
We have seen a slow surface in Adelaide and batsmen have usually not got the kind of starts as in the past. Sides batting first struggle to aim a good total on this wicket. The side winning the toss would aim to take advantage of the surface and opt to bowl first in the game.
Adelaide Strikers have done well in the lead up to this game. They come here with three consecutive wins, but the side has had a miserable record against the Sydney Sixers in the past. The Sixers are already through to the playoffs and have their batting line-up in excellent form. This would make them favorites to win this game.
