Tournament: Big Bash League 2021-22 | Format: T20 | Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Australia | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowWe are into the 28th game of the Big Bash League 2021-22 and the Adelaide Strikers would have a big challenge on their hands as they play the Sydney Thunder. The Strikers suffered yet another loss in their last game against the Hobart Hurricanes. Sydney Thunder played well in the last game defeating the table-toppers Perth Scorchers.
It has been four losses in a row for the Strikers and they are stuck in 7th place on the points table. The side to get their acts together to keep hopes alive for a berth in the next round. They have had a poor record against the Sydney Thunder in recent years and it would take a lot of effort for them to win this game.
Peter Siddle would want his side to break out of the poor form. They have lost four games in a row and come here with a big loss against the Hobart Hurricanes. The side bowled poorly in the last game and failed to defend a big total going down by 7 wickets. They have to get their campaign back on track here and Siddle would want his key players to step up their game.
The side would expect a good start from Jake Weatherald and Matthew Short who have been in good form. Matt Renshaw batted well in the last game and he would have to play a key role in the middle order with Jonathan Wells and Thomas Kelly. The side would expect contributions from Harry Nielson, George Garton, and Rashid Khan who haven’t been at their best.
Garton and Wes Agar haven’t been in the best of form with the ball and the side would like to see better spells from them in this game. Rashid Khan hasn’t lived up to the expectations and he along with Siddle must bring their experience to play. Short and Fawad Ahmed would have to play the supporting role well in this game.

It is just the kind of win Chris Green would have wanted. They brought to an end Perth Scorchers’ juggernaut winning the high scoring game by 34 runs. It was a brilliant show from their batsmen who took the game away from the Scorchers. Green would like to pile on Strikers’ agony in the upcoming game and strengthen their position on the points table.
Alex Hales hasn’t lived up to the expectations and the side would like to see a good start from him and Matthew Gilkes in this game. Sam Billings and Jason Sangha are in great form and they would look to continue the same momentum and add runs with Alex Ross in the middle order. The side has good depth in the batting department with Daniel Sams, Ben Cutting, and Green in the side.
Sams and Saqib Mahmood have been good with the new ball in the last few games and the side would like to see early wickets from them. Nathan McAndrew and Green would be high confidence after their good show in the last game. In Sangha and Cutting, they have bowlers who can trouble the Strikers batsmen.

Weatherman predicts clear skies over Adelaide on December 31, and we would have a good game on our hands. It has been a high-scoring wicket and this trend is expected to continue. Bowlers are likely to struggle on this track and the side batting first would need at least 180 runs on the board.
Adelaide Oval is one of the best batting surfaces in Australia with shorter boundaries around the square allowing batsmen to play their strokes freely. Fast bowlers have done well at this venue in but spinners have always struggled as there is little margin for error due to the dimensions of the ground.
Two games have been played in the tournament so far and in both these games, the side batting first has registered big wins. The wicket has been dry and good to bat on producing lots of runs. The side winning the toss would like to make good use of track and opt to bat first.
Adelaide Strikers find need to execute their game plan well. They have been poor with the ball and they can least afford another average performance in the next game. The side would have to play spirited cricket to win here. The Sydney Thunder displayed their best skills in the last game and have their batsmen in form and this would make them favorites to win this game.
