World Champions England would look to make a strong comeback in the 2nd game of the three-match series with Australia. The Englishmen played poorly in the last game to finish at least 30 runs short of a good total losing the game by 6 wickets. They need to come up with a better show in this game to level the series.

Australia's openers looked in excellent form in the last game. It will add to the side's confidence on a Sydney track that can be tricky sometimes. England has had a poor record at Sydney, and they have won just four out of the last 15 games they have played. Australians would go for the kill, and the Englishmen must rise to the challenge and keep the series alive.

Australia Preview

Pat Cummins would be pleased with his side's performance in the first game at Adelaide. It was a clinical win for the team, dominating the game from the start. Their bowlers did well, and the top order played quality knocks in the chase. He would look to carry this momentum forward and win the series in two straight games.

David Warner and Travis Head set up a 147-run stand in the last game, and the side would like a similar show. Steven Smith looks in good form, and he will look to steer the middle order with Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey. The side has depth in the batting department, where Cameron Green, Marcus Stoinis, and Ashton Agar must do well in the finishers' role.

Mitchell Starc is back in form, and it is excellent news for the side, as the speedster has struggled in recent months. He will look to put England under pressure by sharing the new ball with Pat Cummins. Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar would enjoy the track in Sydney, and the side would expect good spells from them. Green and Stoinis add to the side's options with the ball.

Australia Predicted Playing XI:

England Preview

Jos Buttler shall look to put behind last game's performance. Their team selection surprised everyone as they neglected the spin attack. Their top order failed to add runs apart from Dawid Manal. The side must return to the drawing board and regroup for this game. Australians won't make it easy for the side, and Buttler shall look for a better show from his players.

Jason Roy and Phillip Salt didn't make runs in the last game. The side shall expect a good performance from them. Dawid Malan will carry the confidence after his hundred and needs to build partnerships with James Vince and Sam Billings in the middle order. Buttler is a good hitter, and he would look to add quick runs down the order with David Willey and Chris Jordan.

The bowling attack fared poorly in the last game. David Willey and Olly Stone must bowl better lines with the new ball, as the Australian openers will be aggressive during the powerplay. Adil Rashid must play this game, and he will look to take advantage of the Sydney track. The side would expect better spells from Chris Jordan and Luke Wood in this game.

England Predicted Playing XI:

Weather Conditions

Sydney would see overcast skies on November 19, and the batting conditions would be challenging. A lot of cricket has been played in recent months at this venue, and the wicket is expected to be slow. Spinners will enjoy the conditions as well. The side batting first would be happy to score 300 runs in this game.

Venue Details

Sydney Cricket Ground is one of the largest venues where scoring boundaries is never easy. But the size of the venue also offers plenty of twos and threes. Batsmen who rotate the strike have done well at this ground. Fast bowlers do get their early rewards from the surface. It is the best ground for the spinners in Australia, as the ball turns sharply on this track.

Toss: To Bat

The last five games at this venue have been won by sides batting first. The surface is best to bat on in the first innings, and spinners can cause havoc in the second innings of the game. Both captains shall keep this record in mind. The side winning the toss is likely to opt for batting first.

England got their planning and execution wrong in the last game. Their batsmen threw away wickets, making it easy for Australia. The side would need partnerships from their batsmen to defeat the Australians. The Aussies know the conditions well and are a tough side to beat at the SCG. Their top order has shown good form, and this will make them favorites in the game.
