Indians have taken an early lead in the 3-match series with an 11-run win against the Aussies. It was a surprising loss for the hosts as they had dominated the proceedings for most parts of the game and lost out to the Indian spinners in the second half of their innings during the chase. With their backs to the wall at the moment the Australian side would be eager to bounce back and win the next game to level the series. 

The Australian team would take heart from the fact that their key players are in good form in this series and having won both the ODI games against Indians at Sydney they would be counting on the form of their players to win this one. Indians having drawn the first blood would feel confident and need to sort out some of the problems with their batting to win this game.

Aaron Finch would be upset to have lost the last game after they looked all set for an easy chase after having kept the Indians to a mediocre score. It was their poor show against the Indian spinners that resulted in their loss in the last game. Being 0-1 down in the series the Australian skipper would want his side to meet up with the challenge and level the series. 

Openers Finch and D’Arcy Short played well in the last game and they would be looking to provide the side with a good start here. Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Moises Henriques have been in good form in recent games and they will look to score quick runs in the middle. Matthew Wade and Sean Abbott with their hitting abilities bring in a lot to the table. 

Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood were expensive in the last game with the new ball and they will have to get rid of the Indian top-order quickly in this game. Adam Zampa has had a great summer so far and along with Henriques, Abbott and Mitchell Swepson makes it a very strong bowling unit.

Indians would consider themselves lucky to have won the last game. Yuzvendra Chahal who came in as a concussion substitute for Ravindra Jadeja bowled them to victory after Jadeja had taken the team to a respectable total. Kohli would like to treat this lead as an opportunity and go for the kill in this game. Their batting hasn’t been at its best in the series so far and Kohli would look for a better show here. 

KL Rahul looked in brilliant form but the side would need Shikhar Dhawan to fire in this game. Kohli hasn’t been at his best on this tour and the side would be expecting a big one from him. With Hardik Pandya and Sanju Sampson to follow, batting looks good in the middle. Ravindra Jadeja played a match winning knock in the last game and he will look to finish things in style with Washington Sundar towards the end. 

The side would be expecting a good start with the new ball from Deepak Chahar and Sundar. Chahar bowled well after the poor first over in the last game. Mohammad Shami’s poor show in this format continues and as the most experienced bowler in the side he will need to bowl well here. Yuzvendra Chahal showed his worth in the last game and shall be a part of the starting XI here. T Natrajan impressed on debut and this would make the side confident.
