Meg Lanning’s side has made a confident start to the tournament. They defeated England Women by 12 runs in their first game. The side batted well to set up a big total and defended it successfully towards the end. They have never lost a game against Pakistan Women and Lanning would want to keep this record intact here. 

Rachael Haynes hit a hundred in the last game and she would look forward to setting up a good opening wicket stand with Alyssa Healy. Lanning played well in the last game and adds solidity to the middle order with Beth Mooney and Ellyse Perry. Tahlia McGrath and Annabel Sutherland complete a strong batting line-up for the side heading into this game. 

Megan Schutt and Darcie Brown would look to bowl better lines than they had done in the last game. Jess Jonassen and Sutherland also have to come up with better spells as the England batters had taken them on in the last game. Alana King, McGrath, and Perry add variety to this attack making it strong.

Pakistan Women Preview

Bismah Maroof’s side suffered a big blow in their opening game against archrivals India. They batted poorly to lose the game by 107 runs. The side has always struggled in these conditions and they would need a massive turnaround in their form and approach to challenge the Australians. 

Sidra Ameen and Javeria Khan have to score quick runs at the top as their approach against the Indians was negative. Maroof has lots of experience and she would have to anchor the middle-order setting up partnerships with Omaima Sohail and Nida Dar. Sidra Nawa, Aliya Riaz, and Fatima Sana would need to come up with good efforts down the order for the side to win. 

Daina Baig and Anam Amin must get the side early breakthroughs to put Australians under pressure. Nida Dar was impressive with her performance and the side would have big expectations from her in this game. Nashra Sandhu, Fatima Sana, and Sohail must support the main bowlers considering Australia’s strengths with the bat.
