Australia team is showing off their dominance in this format with every passing match. They are building a perfect team combination going into the ICC T20 World Cup next year in their home conditions.

Sri Lanka`s woes continue to pile up as they are yet to win a T20I match in the recent memory. They need to perform as a team to defeat Australia in this series. Individual performances and brilliance won’t help them win matches on a longer run.

Australia Women Preview

Australia team once again achieved a clinical win by 41 runs where they outplayed the opposition right from the start of the game. Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardener played good 40+ cameos to build a vital partnership with Beth Mooney. Australia posted a massive 217 runs on board at the end of their 20 overs.

Their bowlers took 2 quick wickets inside the powerplay and halted the SL chase before their Skipper Chamari Athapaththu took on the Australian bowling attack. Sri Lanka Women Preview

Sri Lanka team suffered yet another loss in the T20Is and is really struggling to perform as a team. Their captain Athapaththu played her best t20I knock till date scoring her maiden century in the previous match. No other batter scored over 20-run mark and eventually, they failed in the chase. But they will be delighted with the fact they scored their highest T20I total of 176 runs in that match.

Their bowlers were taken all over the ground by the Aussies. Oshadi Ranasinghe took 2 quick wickets to put a brake on the scoring rate, but other bowlers failed to sustain the pressure created. They ended up giving 200+ runs to the Australia team. Four of the five bowlers used had an economy rate over 10 RPO in the last match.

Key Players:
Chamari Athapaththu – Athapaththu played a scintillating knock to score 113 runs off 66 balls with 12 boundaries and 6 sixes. She raised from a score of  51 to 113 off just 22 balls as she kept hitting massive sixes.
Oshadi Ranasinghe – Oshadi Ranasinghe took the vital wickets of Alssa Healy and Meg Lanning after a good start by the Aussies. But they were not able to keep up the pressure as the Australians came attacking despite the fall of wickets.

Venue Details

Sydney Pitch was a batting paradise in the first match with both teams scoring over 175 runs easily. We had a match tally of 393 runs in the previous match.

Toss: To Bowl

Teams are finding it easy to bat on this pitch and chasing is the safe option here. Teams batting first need to make a big score to put pressure on the chasing team.

Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu played out of her skin with very little support from her team. Australia is sitting comfortably with contributions from different members of team in both batting and bowling departments. Australia looks stronger in every aspect of the game when compared to Sri Lanka.

Australia Women will win the match and continue their dominance!
