Hosts Bangladesh will look for a face-saving win in the third and final ODI of the three-match series against Afghanistan. They had a horrible day in the 2nd ODI, losing by 142 runs, their biggest loss against the Afghans. The side that has been in the news for off-field drama must gather itself and put up a better show in this game. The Afghans would look to go for the kill and grab the series 3-0.  

Afghanistan has registered comprehensive wins in the last two games, and they have had the upper hand over Bangladesh in recent games. Their openers are in great form, which will make the side confident. There seems to be a lot going on in the Bangladeshi camp, and it will be interesting to see if the hosts can come out of this and avoid a whitewash.

Litton Das would be upset with the kind of bowling performance his side put up in the last game. The experienced bowling attack failed to use the home advantage, and the under-pressure batting line-up didn't fire. They will play for their honor, and Das would like to see his key players rise to the challenge and put up a good show in this game.  

Mohammad Naim and Litton Das failed in the last game, and the side will need a good show from them at the start. They have an experienced middle order and shall like to see partnerships between Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, and Shakib al Hasan. Mushfiqur Rahim is an experienced finisher who must do well with Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz down the order. 
 
The bowling attack has underperformed in both games, and they will need a good show from Hasan Mahmud and Mustafizur Rahman with the new ball. Shakib must bring his experience to play and do well in the middle overs with Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Ebadot Hossain has to deliver the goods in the supporting role.

Hashmatullah Shahidi would be pleased with the performance of his players. They won the last game and dented the hosts' confidence. Afghan batsmen are in good form, and the skipper would like to ride on that. A 3-0 series win would add to the side's confidence as it prepares for the upcoming World Cup.  

Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran set up a record 256-run first-wicket stand for the side in the last game.
