It was expected that Bangladesh will dominate in the T20I series against Ireland, after beating them comfortably in the ODI series. However, the way they crushed the Irish in the two matches of the series so far has been incredible to see.

In the second T20I, the Tigers blasted 202-3 in 17 overs and then restricted Ireland to just 125-9. Litton Das was the hero for the home team, smashing a breathtaking 83 off 41 balls. He has been in exceptional form, and we are backing him to produce another special knock in the final match. 

Opener Rony Talukdar is another batter who has been in terrific form, scoring 67 off 38 balls in the first T20I and 44 off 23 balls in the second. 

Captain Shakib Al Hasan has led from the front, and how! In the previous match, he remained unbeaten on 38 off 24 balls and then took 5-22 to break the back of the Ireland chase. He will surely to play a pivotal role in the final game.

Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed continues to be impressive and is improving with every game. He has already taken 7 wickets in this series at an economy of 7.16. He has looked threatening at all stages and troubled all the batters. The Irish batters will have their task cut out dealing with him in the final game.

Ireland Preview

Ireland have been below par in all the departments throughout this tour. While it was expected that they would struggle in the ODI, we felt they would give the home side much stiffer competition in the shortest format. However, the visitors have looked all at sea in the two matches so far.

The main problem with Ireland is their batting. None of the batters have clicked, with Curtis Campher being the leading scorer with 51 runs in 2 matches at a strike rate of nearly 160. Unfortunately, the others like skipper Paul Stirling, Ross Adair, Lorcan Tucker, and Gareth Delany haven’t done anything of note. We think a big knock is around the corner from either Delany or Tucker.

Ireland’s bowling has looked hapless in these conditions. Their bowlers have conceded over 200 runs in both the T20Is and things don’t look promising for them. Leg-spinner Benjamin White, who took 2-28 off his 4 overs in the previous game, is the one bright star in Ireland’s bowling this series.

The pitch at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium has been terrific for T20 cricket. The pitch does offer considerable help to spinners and seamers will have to continuously vary their lengths. Batters will have a great time here, particularly in the first half. The ball begins to grip more as the pitch becomes slower by the second half.

The weather in Chattogram during the match will be mostly warm with a stray thunderstorm expected in the afternoon.

Bangladesh batted first in both T20Is and accumulated totals of more than 200 on both occasions. This isn’t exactly a 200-run wicket, but Bangladesh have just been too aggressive with the bat. The team batting first in this game should look to set a target of around 190-odd runs.
