Our prediction is Bangladesh will go 1-0 up.
Bangladesh has beaten West Indies comprehensively in both the Test and ODI formats. And now, it is time for the T20I format where West Indies team is a force to reckon. Bangladesh team is lead by all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan. Their batting department is compreised of Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Ariful Haque and Mohammed Mithun. Most of their batters are in good form and have scored runs in the recently concluded ODI series. Mustafizur Rahman and Rubel Hossain are the pace bowlers in charge. Mehdi hasan, Ariful Haque and Nazmul Islam in the spin department are led by skipper Shakib. Bangladesh team are currently in a winning momentum in the West indies tour. They are hard to beat in their home ground.
West Indies team`s favourite format has been the T20s. And their players have vast experience in T20s by playing in different leagues across the globe. Carlos Brathwaite leads the T20 team for West Indies. All rounder Kesrick Williams, Opener Evin lewis and Pacer Sheldon cotrell are back in the West Indies Squad. Shai Hope had an excellent ODI series and scored two back to back centuries and has been lone warrior for the team. All the other batsmen Bravo, Hetmyer and Rovman powell had a quite series. On the bowling front Oshane Thomas and Brathwaite are joined by Sheldon Cotrell and Kesrick Williams in the pace department. All rounders Keemo Paul, Fabian Allen and Khary Pierre provide the much required firepower to the team. West Indies team would be expecting the change of formats would bring change of fortunes for the team.
Tamim Iqbal – The explosive has regained form and fitness and had some good match time in ODIs. He is expected to set the tone of the match with his aggressive batting.
Shakib Al Hasan – Shakib apart from his batting and bowling abilities has to lead the team from the front and inspire other players to perform to their potentials. Shakib can be a game changer with both the ball and bat.
Mustafizur Rahman – With batsmen taking on the bowlers, Mustafizur`s slow balls could be a deadly wicket taking option. Mustafizur has experience of bowling in death overs in T20s.

All-rounder Ariful Haque and Spinner Nazmul Islam are expected to slot into the playing XI. Rubel partners Mustafizur in the pace department. The batting department looks the same as in the one in the ODIs.
Shai Hope – Hope has been in a scintillating form with two consecutive centuries in the last two ODIs. He will hoping to carry forward his form to the T20Is.
Shimron Hetmyer – Hetmyer had a low profile ODI series after his good showing in the tests. He would hope to make a mark in the T20Is.
Oshane Thomas – The pacer has been impressive with his ability to bowl at higher speeds. He should compile his raw pace with accuracy to restrict the batsmen and take wickets in the T20Is.

West indies team has a bulk of changes from their ODI team. Evan Lewis and Kesrick Williams are expected to back in the playing XI. They have a long batting line up with a group of all-rounders in the middle order.
Sylhet ground has been a batting friendly ground with high scores. Scores in excess of 180 runs would be scored. The afternoon start nullifies the effect of the dew and the conditions remain same across the entire duration of the match.
Chasing becomes best option in batting friendly grounds. Sylhet ground is known to favour the teams chasing and 5 times out of 7 teams batting second has won the game here. So batting second will be preferred by both teams.
Bangladesh team has been performing as a group whereas West Indies have had one or two individual performances and not as a team. So Bangladesh is expected to winning the opening T20I match.
