Pakistan Women to win
Tournament: ICC Women World Cup Qualifier 2021 | Format: ONE-DAY | Venue: Old Hararians Sports Club, Harare, Zimbabwe | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowIt is the inaugural game of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2021 and Bangladesh Women would be up against Pakistan Women in the game at Harare. The two Asian sides have enjoyed good rivalry in the past and this is expected to be a good contest. Both sides are expected to enjoy the conditions where the ball is expected to turn.
Pakistan Women bring in a tried and tested combination of players and this would work to their advantage. They have enjoyed a good record against them over the past few years and shall take confidence from those wins. It will be interesting to see how the new-look Bangladeshi side fares in this game.
Nigar Sultana has made a good start to her stint as captain winning the ODI series against Zimbabwe Women in the lead-up to this tournament. She would look to carry this momentum forward and aim at making a strong start to the tournament. It won’t be easy as Pakistanis are a strong side and the new skipper would like her girls to put up a strong show in this game.
The side would need a good start at the top from Murshida Khatun and Nuzhat Tasnia who have settled in well in this role. Nigar Sultana shall need to anchor the innings with Sobhana Mostary and Fargana Hoque in the middle order as both these players have looked in good touch. The side would like to see contributions from the likes of Rumana Ahmed and Lata Mondal down the order.
Fariha Trisna and Nahida Akter will have a very important role to play with the new ball given the kind of strength Pakistan has in the top order. Khadija Tul Kurba is growing in confidence, and she would need to keep the scoring rate under check alongside Lata Mondal. Rumana Ahmed has to deliver the goods in the role of the 5th bowler in this game.

Javeria Khan’s side hasn’t been in the best of form in recent months. The side comes here with a series loss against West Indies Women at home and has lost most games in the recent past. However, their record against Bangladesh Women has been good and Khan shall want her girls to take inspiration from those wins here in the game.
They would hope to see a good start in the game from Muneeba Ali and Ayesha Zafar who bring in a lot of experience to the table. In the middle order, the side has good strength with Javeria Khan, Omaima Sohail, and Iram Javed in the squad. They would also like to see runs down the order from Aliya Riaz and Fatima Sana.
With the ball, they would like to see wickets from Aman Amin and Daina Baig in the game as the Bangladeshi top order has looked in good form in the recent games played. In the middle overs, Fatima Sana and Nashra Sandhu would be expected to play important roles in the game. Sohail and Sadia Iqbal add good depth to this bowling attack.

It would be cloudy skies over Harare on November 21 and there are predictions for rains as well. Batting conditions are expected to be challenging and we are likely to see bowlers getting good assistance from the surface. The side batting first would be happy to put 250 runs on the board.
Old Hararians Sports Club is a large ground with thick grass outfield. The wicket is flat here and this allows batters to score runs easily as there are plenty of opportunities for twos and threes. Fast bowlers have done well at this venue with the new ball. Spinners also get turn as the game progresses and the wicket starts to wear.
It would be the first game of the tournament here and we expect to see easy assistance from the track. The overcast conditions would also benefit the bowlers in the early overs of the game. Hence the side winning the toss shouldn’t have any hesitation in batting first.
Bangladesh Women are coming into this tournament with a new-look side, and it would be interesting to see how they fare on the big stage. Their record against Pakistan Women hasn’t been good in the past and this would be on the minds of the players. Pakistan Women have lots of experience and a strong bowling attack. This would make them favorites to win the game.
