Bahrain will be up against the unbeaten UAE in their last match at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium. Though they’ve won their last two consecutive matches, this will not be a tough challenge for Bahrain as they lock horns against UAE in a must-win game.
Bahrain’s batting hasn’t been in good touch since the beginning. They’ve batted first on two occasions and scored 123 runs both times. Imran Ali looks promising at the top but has lacked support from his opening partner and skipper Umer Toor.
Though he’s scored well, Ali’s strike rate has been below 100 in the last two outings. Bahrain are up against a strong UAE bowling attack that features the likes of Junai Siddique, Zahoor Khan, and Muhammad Jawadullah.
It is going to be an uphill battle for Bahrain’s batters. However, Toor will be expecting his bowlers to continue their form and give the team an edge in this match.
Bahrain will be happy with their comeback but they have a lot of work ahead as they not only must win this game but ensure a big margin to improve their NRR.
The bowlers have been exceptional in their last couple of wins. First, they bowled out Saudi Arabia for just 110 runs and then successfully defended a 123-run total against Oman in the last match.
Even when chasing a 111-run target, Bahrain lost 4 wickets and reached the target in the 19th Over. It was courtesy of opener Imran Ali Butt and Junai Aziz that Bahrain managed to recover from a batting collapse in the run chase.
Imran Ali was the top run-scorer in the last match as well but his strike rate was less than 100. Imran Anwar at number 3 needs to step up and deliver while Junaid Aziz remains a key figure at number 5.
There are many promising names in the middle and lower-middle order but none is reliable or consistent. And this makes Bahrain’s situation very difficult as they face a strong bowling attack.
Bahrain has great variety in the bowling attack and that is their only strength coming into this match. Rizwan Butt, Ali Dawood, and Imran Anwar are the key wicket-taking bowlers to watch out for.

The United Arab Emirates have been the best performers in this tournament. They’ve dominated every other team so far and are the table-toppers. They are all set to pose a tough challenge to a struggling Bahrain. Zahoor Khan has found his rhythm after struggling in the first few outings.
He was the top wicket-taker with 4 for 16 in the last match. UAE have many reliable bowlers who are delivering breakthroughs consistently. Moreover, they’ve also got an all-rounder who can deliver with both bat and ball.
Ali Naseer has picked 7 wickets in the last three matches and has also scored some crucial runs lower down the order. However, UAE haven’t relied on their lower order so far as the top order has scored a majority of the runs.
Muhammad Waseem scored 3 fifties in four matches opening the innings for the UAE while Aryansh Sharma has also been among the top run-scorers at the top.
In their 4 matches so far, the openers have delivered 50+ partnerships every single time and that is UAE’s biggest strength. And there are many reliable batters in the middle-order who can step up and deliver after the openers are back in the hut.
The likes of Vritiya Aravind, Asif Khan, Ansh Tandon, Ali Naseer, and Basil Hameed are all capable of striking partnerships and scoring quick runs at the death.

It is a balanced pitch where there is an even contest between the bat and the ball. UAE’s batters have enjoyed playing their shots on this surface while the bowlers in both these teams have found consistent success. The weather will be cloudy with a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius around the time of this match in Doha.
West End Park International Cricket Stadium will be the venue for this match. It has hosted all the matches of the Gulf Cricket T20I Championship 2023 so far and will also be the venue for the Final. A 1st innings score of 165+ is possible on this surface and we reckon team batting first should be looking for that to stay competitive in this match.
UAE have always opted to bat first on winning the toss in this tournament and will likely continue to do so. Bahrain should also consider batting first as it would allow them to improve their NRR. And they’ve got an in-form bowling attack that the skipper can rely on for defending a competitive total.
This will be an exciting contest between the table-toppers and a promising Bahrain side that needs to win this match to stand a chance of reaching the final. The scales are tilted in favor of the UAE given their current form. Bahrain’s bowling attack looks promising but an out-of-form and unreliable batting lineup does not make a strong case for their victory. Overall, UAE are a far superior side and will start as favorites in our match prediction.
