Bihar will search for its first win in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 as they face Haryana in the 22nd game. Bihar made a poor start to the season, going down against Delhi in their opening game. Ashutosh Aman and his men must come out of the humiliating loss against Delhi. It was a below-par performance from the side with the bat and the ball that saw them go down by eight wickets. They are up against a strong side, and Bihar's skipper will need a determined effort from his players.  

The top order failed in the previous game, and they will need a better start from Bipin Saurabh and Mangal Mahrour. Babul Kumar, Sakibul Gani, and Shishir Saket must build partnerships in the middle order for the side to challenge the opposition. Raghuvendra Pratap Singh, Veer Pratap Singh, and Sachin Kumar have crucial jobs in the lower middle order given the top order's form.  

Abhijeet Saket and Veer Pratap Singh must pick early wickets in the game to put the side in a good position. The middle overs will be crucial, and the side will need a good show from the trio of Malay Raj, Raghuvendra Pratap Singh, and Ashutosh Aman. Sachin Kumar must do well in the supporting role.

Ashok Menaria's side made a confident start to the season. They defeated Uttarakhand by six wickets in their opening game. It was a clinical performance from the bat and the ball, and Menaria would like to continue with the same form. Their opponents lost the last game by a huge margin, and the Haryana skipper will look to exploit their lack of confidence.  

Ankit Kumar and Yuvraj Singh set up a 96-run opening wicket stand in the previous game, and the side will expect a similar start from them in this game. Himanshu Rana must anchor the innings at No. 3 and build partnerships with Menaria. Harshal Patel, Rahul Tewatia, and Rohit Parmod Sharma are powerful strikers and shall look to add quick runs.   

Anshul Kamboj was brilliant with the new ball against Uttarakhand, and he will look to pick early wickets with Harshal Patel. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled well in the middle overs and will look to break the scoring rate with Sumit Kumar. Nishant Sindhu and Rahul Tewatia will look to do well in the supporting role.

Gujarat College Ground, Ahmedabad, is a small ground, and batsmen can play their strokes easily. There is little for the fast bowlers on this track as it has low bounce, but spinners have done well as the ball grips the surface and turns sharply on this ground.

The surface is good to bat on at the start of the game and slows down as the game progresses. We have seen this in previous games at this venue. Hence, the side winning the toss shall look to bat first and take advantage of the wicket.
