It is the 25th game at the Czech Republic T10 Super Series, 2020 and the first for Group 4 where the Brno Raptors would be taking on the Moravian CC. The Brno Raptors one of the three teams from the     Brno Cricket Club. They are a known entity and have been playing in domestic cricket for a while the Moravian CC would be making their debut in competitive cricket in this game.

This game would be all about experience on one side and youthful energy on the other. The Raptors have some established players in their ranks and they shall be looking to get off to a good start for the day. The Moravian CC mostly comprises of lesser known players in Czech cricket and they would be looking to surprise their stronger opponents going into this game. Its T10 cricket and there are always surprises in this format of the game.

Brno Raptors Preview

Muhammad Ansar would look to make a good start to the tournament as they take on a relatively inexperienced side. Their team has some of the best players in local cricket and shall be looking to prove their skills in the ground. This format allows no room for complacency and hence Ansar would want his players to put their best foot forward in this game.
In Muhammad Ansar they have a very experienced player opening the batting for the side and he will look to provide a good start in company of Chirag Kheradiya. In Suresh Ramaro, Sureshkumar Nagaraj and Varun Mehta they have a strong bowling attack. The side will hope to take advantage of the inexperienced bowling line-up they would be up against in this game.
As far as their bowling attack is concerned Ali Kashif and Machris Dias are the two most experienced players for the side and the team will look at them to provide early breakthroughs. Mark Smart, Sandeep Naidu and Vivek Raxwal will need to bowl tight lines. They aren’t regular bowlers and hence this is one of the areas the side will have to focus on to win this game.

Brno Raptors Predicted Playing XI:

Jan Hoffmann (wk), Varun Mehta, Mark Smart, Sureshkumar Nagaraj, Muhammad Ansar, Vivek Raxwal, Chirag Kheradiya, Ali Kashif, Suresh Ramaro, Sandeep Naidu, Machris Dias

Moravian CC Preview

Syed Abdul-Wahab has a big challenge on his hands as he leads a relatively inexperienced side in the first game of the season. Apart from few players most others don’t have experience of playing competitive cricket. He will have to make good use of his resources and play positive cricket.
Batting looks slightly weak for the side as they would be over reliant on their top 3 comprising of Lal Mohan, Jilesh Mattakot and skipper Syed Abdul Wahab. For the side to do well in the game these players will need to put up big scores on the board. Down the order the likes of Gireesh Brahmadasan and Shrivadiraja Ramamurthy will be expected to do the hitting for the side.
Bowling wise they have a decent attack that includes Dhanushka Sandharuwan and Om Sharma with the new ball. Both these bowlers are known for generating decent pace off the surface. Vineesh Njarekkattil is the only other known bowler in the side and these three between them will need to pick most wickets in the game.

Moravian CC Predicted Playing XI:

Syed Abdul-Wahab (c&wk), Shrivadiraja Ramamurthy, Jilesh Mattakot, Lal Mohan, Om Sharma, Gireesh Brahmadasan, Manu Paul, Dhanushka Sandharuwan, Yograj Sahani, Vineesh Njarekkattil, Premprakash Yadav

Weather Conditions

It will be clear skies over Prague on July 4 with odd clouds. Batting conditions would be the best we have seen so far in this tournament where the ball is expected to come on to the bat nicely. Bowlers would have to pitch the ball in the right areas to do well in this game. The side batting first would have to eye a total in the range of 100 runs to feel comfortable on this track.

Venue Details

It is a small park at the Brno Cricket Ground with a lush green outfield. Batsmen who play the big strokes have done well at this venue. Fast bowlers also get the initial bounce and carry off the surface at this venue. It is a tough wicket to bowl for the spinners as there is hardly any assistance for them with the small size of the park and the ball being hard and new.

Toss: To Bat

In the last 10 games in this tournament the side that has batted first has gone on to win 8 games. The template is set where teams bat first and put up a big score on the board and then bowl out their opponents. Going into this game the side winning the toss would have little hesitation in batting first.

It’s a game between two sides that don’t match on paper. Brno Raptors have been in the league circuit for many years and come from one of the strongest cricketing clubs in the country with several experienced players. On the other hand the Moravian CC is relatively a new team on the block. They have few players who have played in competitive league and it will be a big challenge for them. Brno Raptors would definitely start as favorites going into this game.
