Rajshahi Royals to win the match!
Tournament: Bangladesh Premier League 2020 | Format: T20 | Venue: Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, Bangladesh | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowRajshahi Royals have won three of the four matches they have played in the season so far. With six points and a positive net run-rate, they sit pretty at no. 2 in the points table.
On the other hand, Comilla Warriors have had a mixed season, primarily due to a lack of T20 quality in the side. They have won two and lost three of the five matches and have just about stayed on the positive side of the net run-rate. Having won two of their first three matches, Comilla has suffered owing to back-to-back losses in their last two games.
In their game on Monday, Comilla came close to nailing a win but lost in the final over as Soumya Sarkar faltered against veteran Shahid Afridi. Rajshahi Royals, meanwhile, are peaking at the right time with their batting posing a major threat to any total teams post on board.
Rajshahi Royals have a core group that comprises of some extraordinary T20 batters - the likes of Shoaib Malik, Ravi Bopara, and Andre Russell. Malik has had a decent run so far in the tournament this year with 139 runs in 3 matches where he remained unbeaten in two of them.
Wicket-keeper batsman Liton Das and all-rounder turned opener Afif Hossain are two others to watch out for. The former has made 102 runs in three matches, averaging 51 in the season so far. His 44-ball 58 was pivotal in Rajshahi's win over Khulna on Monday night.
The bowling attack has good variety and has done a decent job in restricting teams to average totals. The totals they have conceded in the season have been: 134, 91, 192 and 145. The reasonable spike in the last two matches should worry the think-tank. Key players: Andre Russell, Shoaib Malik
Liton Das (WK), Hazratullah Zazai, Afif Hossain, Shoaib Malik, Alok Kapali, Ravi Bopara, Andre Russell (C), Farhad Reza, Taijul Islam, Abu Jayed, Kamrul Islam
Al-Amin Hossain, Soumya Sarkar, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Sabbir Rahman, Dasun Shanaka, Sumon Khan, Yasir Ali Choudhary, Robiul Islam, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan Ankon, Dawid Malan
Despite racking up 160 for the loss of just three wickets against the Dhaka Platoons on Monday, Cumilla lost by five wickets. Bhanuka Rajapaksa's outstanding innings went in vain with the other power-hitters in the side not accelerating enough. Yasir Ali's 27-ball 30 was as much of a match-losing innings as any.
Dawid Malan and Soumya Sarkar had rare failures on Monday and it cost the team. Malan has 200 runs in 5 matches this season, averaging 50 and is the fifth-highest run-getter in the season so far.
Skipper Dasun Shanaka has been a tad inconsistent while the bowling as such - save the super impressive Mujeeb Ur Rahman - has lacked tooth. Soumya Sarkar with 8 wickets in 5 games is the leading wicket-taker for them, averaging 17.5 with the ball. Mujeeb Ur Rahman has seven wickets while Al-Amin Hossain has 5 wickets and the two have done well without being over the top.
Key players: Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Soumya Sarkar

Chattogram has produced some good batting wickets but the last three games have all had totals ranging from 140-170. Three games have seen scores of more than 180 being scored in the first innings. This is an evening start and it is expected to be a clear day although dew could play a role later in the night. The temperatures will hover around the lows 20s.
The Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram has been on a hosting spree in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) so far and will continue to host matches till the two games on the 24th. This is a high scoring ground and the average score batting first at this venue is 180 this season.
The trend in white-ball cricket is to chase and this tournament has been no different. 12 games so far have been won by teams batting second and at this venue, the three games have all been won by chasing teams. Both captains will want to field first.
Rajshahi Royals have the best batting line-up in the tournament while the Cumilla Warriors have the worst bowling attack. The Royals have been ruthless in their batting performances even against good sides and it is highly unlikely that we will see them hiccup against a very ordinary bowling attack. Much of Comilla's fortunes rest on how they bowl to the famed middle-order of the Royals who are favorites according to us.
