The Comilla Victorians had won both league games against the Chattogram Challengers and this would add to the side’s confidence. But the side comes here with a defeat while the Challengers would have their morale high after winning the last game. Chattogram Challengers Preview

Afif Hossain’s side comes into this contest after a close win against the Khulna Tigers in the Eliminator game. They did well in the dying moments of the game to win by 7 wickets nearly having thrown away the game. They had lost against the Victorians twice in the league stages and the side would need to deliver a good show here. 

The side would expect a good start from Will Jacks and Kennar Lewis in this game as both these players can strike the ball hard. Chadwick Walton played a blinder in the last game, and he would look to add quick runs in the middle order with Afif Hossain and Shamim Hossain. In Benny Howell and Mehidy Hasan, the side has good hitters of the ball to follow and runs shall be expected from them. 

Their bowlers have struggled in recent games and the side would expect early strikes from Shoriful Islam and Nasum Ahmed here. Shoriful Islam must strike form for the side to win. Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Mehidy Hasan shall have to bowl well in this game in the middle overs and Howell must play the supporting role well given the strength Victorians have with the bat.

Imrul Kayes’ side went down against the Fortune Barishal in the 1st Qualifier game by 10 runs. Kayes would be upset with his batsmen as they failed to chase down a small total losing wickets at regular intervals. They had defeated the Challengers in both the league games and the skipper would like his side to draw inspiration from those wins. 

Liton Das and Mahmudul Hasan Joy have done well at the top and the side would need a strong show from them at the top. In the middle order, they have experienced players in Faf du Plessis, Kayes, and Moeen Ali and they will have to convert their starts. Sunil Narine and Mahidul Islam Ankon have good hitting abilities and they have to add quick runs.  

Nahidul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman have bowled good lines and the side would need wickets from them. Tanvir Islam has looked in good form and along with Narine and Moeen Ali, he would look to do well in the middle overs. The presence of Shohidul Islam adds strength to this bowling attack.

The skies over Dhaka would be clear on February 16 and we expect to see a high-scoring game. The surface has been flat and batsmen have been able to play their strokes freely here.  The side batting first would need to get 180 runs to successfully defend it.

Shere Bangla National Stadium is known for being flat and we have seen batsmen do well at this venue. The fast outfield has been advantageous for the batsmen. The surface is unforgiving for the fast bowlers, but we have seen spinners do well here as there is sharp turn on offer.
