The Bangladesh Premier League 2022 has got off to a good start and we have already witnessed close games. The 9th game would see the Chattogram Challengers taking on the Khulna Tigers. The two sides had met in the previous game as well and the Challengers managed to register a comfortable win in the game.  

The Khulna Tigers have a very strong batting line-up and they would aim to make good use of it. Their bowlers failed miserably in the last game but the side has the resources to bounce back here. It has been two consecutive victories for Mehidy Hasan’s side. They played well in the last game to defeat the Khulna Tigers by 30 runs. It was a complete team effort where most of their players came up with contributions. Hasan would be confident as they take on the same opponent again and want his players to play their natural game.

The side would like to see a solid start from Will Jacks and Kennar Lewis who haven’t got the big scores yet. In the middle order, the side would need Hasan to play an important role and add to the scoreboard with Afif Hossain and Sabbir Rahman. They have good depth in their batting with Benny Howell and Shamim Hossain to follow. 

It was good efforts from the new ball pair of Nasum Ahmed and Shoriful Islam that set up the win for the side in the last game and a similar show would be expected from them in this game. Hasan and Howell were wayward in the last game and they will have to play an important role here. Rejaur Rahman Raja did well in the last game and he would carry the confidence.

Mushfiqur Rahim’s side bowled poorly in the last game to lose it by a big margin and the skipper would be looking for a strong comeback. The bowling attack failed to execute its plans in the last game and this is one area that Rahim would want his men to work on and improve their position on the points table. 

Andre Fletcher and Tanzid Hasan failed to convert their starts in the last game, and they would need to set up a good start. Mahedi Hasan, Rahim, and Rony Talukdar are good players and a strong show would be expected from them in the middle order. The side bats deep with Yasir Ali, Sikandar Raza and Thisara Perera to follow. 

The side would need early wickets in this game from Suhrawadi Shuvo and Kamrul Islam who bowled poorly in the last game. Hasan and Naveen-ul-Haq shall have to make good use of their experience in this game. In Perera, Raza, and Farhad Reza they have depth in this attack, and good spells would be expected from them.

There is expected to be some juice early on in the game though batsmen would be able to play their strokes freely here. Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram is a good venue for T20 cricket as it offers something for the batsmen and bowlers.  Fast bowlers see good assistance from the track early in the game while the true bounce and pace on the surface allows batsmen to play their strokes. Spinners have also enjoyed a good record at this venue with the wicket offering turn.
