Chattogram Challengers will be taking on Rangpur Rangers in match number seven in this Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Both teams are going into this game with a loss in their last game.

After the win in the first game, the Chattogram Challengers brought in the West Indies duo of Lendl Simmons and Kesrick Williams for the second game but it didn’t have a big impact. They had played a T20I only a day before and they got on to the park straight off the plane. However, the experienced duo will be crucial for the Challengers going forward.

Chadwick Walton has looked good in the two games and has been striking the ball well. Along with Simmons, he will be looking to give the team a solid start. The premier Bangladesh batsman in this squad, Imrul Kayes took them over the line in the first game with a 38-ball 61.

Rubel Hossain has been the team’s best bowler as he’s picked up two wickets in as many games. But he has also been expensive, just like the rest of the attack which consists of Enamul Haque, Muktar Ali and Williams. This bowling attack looks thin on paper and will need to pull up their socks early in the tournament.

Rangpur Rangers Preview

Rangpur Rangers have played one game and they failed miserably with the bat. Mohammad Naim was the highest scorer as he made 17 while there were only other two batsmen that registered double figures. It will be better if the entire batting line-up brushes this performance aside. Naim and Mohammad Shahzad make a good opening combination. They can take the game away from the opposition and give the team a flying start.

The presence of Mohammad Nabi who can contribute with both bat and ball makes a big difference. Lewis Gregory can do the same and has a decent T20 record.

It’s the bowling that makes Rangpur Rangers stand out. The pace-attack consists of Taskin Ahmed, Junaid Khan and Mustafizur Rahman and they all can be wicket-takers.
