Chattogram Challengers to win
Tournament: Bangladesh Premier League 2022 | Format: T20 | Venue: Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowThe Chattogram Challengers would play their last league game as they take on Sylhet Sunrisers in the 29th game. The Challengers defeated Minister Group Dhaka in the last game to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs. The Sunrisers are in poor form and went down against Comilla Victorians in their last game.
Sylhet Sunrisers have won just one game so far in the tournament and they are out of contention for the next round. Their key players have failed to contribute and this is worrying for the side. The Challengers have to win this game to go to the playoffs and they would look to produce their best performance here.
Afif Hossain led the side to an important win in the last game against Minister Group Dhaka. In a tight contest, the side won by 3 runs to keep their hopes alive for a berth in the playoffs. It is a must-win game for the side here and Hossain shall look to exploit Syhlet’s weakness and proceed to the next round of the tournament.
Will Jacks has scored runs this season and he would have to put up a good opening wicket stand with Zakir Hasan. The middle-order looked good in the last game and they would expect runs from Shamim Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, and Afif Hossain. Benny Howell and Akbar Ali are good hitters of the ball and there would be huge expectations from them in this game.
Nasum Ahmed and Shoriful Islam will look to trouble Sunrisers’ rusty batting line-up with the new ball and strike early. Mrittunjoy Chowdhury has been a find for the side and they would need good spells from him in the middle overs. Mehidy Hasan, Howell, and Jacks are experienced bowlers and add to the side’s strengths.

Ravi Bopara’s side would look to get done with the tournament as it has been a forgettable show from them. The side has lost all but one game and lost to the Comilla Victorians by 4 wickets. As they play their last game of the season Bopara would want his side to bow out on a winning note. It would be a tough challenge against the Victorians and the Sunrisers skipper would like to see a spirited show from his players.
Colin Ingram has played brilliantly right from the start, and he would look to provide a good start here with Anamul Haque. Lendl Simmons has also done well but the rest of the middle order has been in poor form. Bopara and Alauddin Babu. Mohammad Mithun and Mosaddek Hossain have failed, and they must contribute down the order for the side to win.
Their bowling has been ineffective, and the side would expect tight spells from Nazmul Islam and Aks Swadhin in the game. Babu and Bopara must bowl tight spells in the middle overs as the Challengers have good firepower with the bat. Sohag Gazi, Mosaddek Hossain, and Muktar Ali shall also have big responsibilities on their shoulders.

It would be clear skies over Dhaka on February 12. The wicket is flat and lots of runs would be expected on this track. Bowlers would have a tough time given the fast outfield. The side that bats first in the game would need 180 runs to defend it.
Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka offers something for the batsmen and bowlers. The flat surface and small size are a boon for batsmen who can score runs easily on this track. Fast bowlers find little assistance from the surface but it has been a good hunting ground for the spinners.
Sides have found it challenging to defend totals at this venue. The flat surface and fast outfield make it easy for sides to chase down big totals. The side winning the toss here would have no hesitation in opting to bowl first.
Sylhet Sunrisers have had a terrible season. Nothing has worked for the side and they have failed to deliver on the promise. They will look to do well as a unit here and end their campaign on a winning note. The Chattogram Challengers look a much better side and have depth in their batting and bowling. This would make them favorites in this contest.
