In the 14th game of BPL 2019 at Shere Bangla National Stadium Chittagong Vikings will take on Comilla Victorians. Both the sides have won two games each after playing three and have showed good form as well as some nerves out there in the middle. Winning the next game would take the side up on the points table and both the captains would be aiming for the same. 

What makes the game even more interesting is the fact that in the last two seasons the sides have had an Evens Stevens record in head-to-head clashes winning two games each and hence the upcoming game would between two well-matched sides.

Mushfiqur Rahim’s team sealed the last game against Khulna Titans in the super over and now has two wins from three games. 

The batting line-up through strong has shown some fragility in the season so far. Mohammad Shahzad is failing to convert his starts but Cameron Delport has looked good. Yasir Ali and Mushfiqur Rahim are doing well bit the form of Sikandar Raza who is in the finisher’s role isn’t looking great for the side. Their top order will have to deliver in the upcoming game as they take on a pretty strong bowling line-up. 

Bowlers have impressed in all the games. They have done well under pressure and last game was a classic example where Robbie Frylinck bowled incredibly well in the super over to win the game for his side. Khaled Ahmed and Nayeem Hasan have done well but it is the other bowlers who have let the side down.

Comilla Victorians Preview

Imrul Kayes’s side has had a good tournament so far having won two out of three games including the last one against Rajshahi Kings. 

Victorians have a strong batting line-up and apart from the game against Rangpur Riders they have batted well. The loss of Steven Smith due to injury isn’t likely to affect the side much as their Top 3 Anamul Haque, Evin Lewis, and Tamim Iqbal have shown good form this season and with the middle order having the likes of Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik besides skipper Kayes the line-up. They have the ability to put huge runs on the board and this would give great confidence to the side. 

They are till now the most economical bowling attack in the season and haven’t allowed any of their opponents to go past 130 runs! Mahedi Hasan, Mohammad Shahid and Shahid Afridi have been in top form with the ball and these strike bowlers are able to find good support from Abu Hider Rony and Mohammad Saifuddin they would surely trouble their opponents.

Weather Conditions

It would be a clear and cool evening on January 13th at Dhaka. The pitch will be easy to bat on especially in the first innings being an evening start. But prediction for clear sky also increases the impact of dew as we have seen in previous games with the side bowling second struggling a bit.
