Angelo Mathews’ side is being considered one of the favourites in the tournament and they have done well so far. The side is undefeated so far and won the last one against the Galle Gladiators by 34 runs under the DLS method. Their batting form has been brilliant and Matthews would look for better show from his bowlers in the next game. 

The opening pair of Dinesh Chandimal and Laurie Evans is in good form and the side would be looking for a positive start from them in this game. In the middle order Andre Russell looks in good form and along with Thikshila de Silva and Mathews will look to score quick runs. Isuru Udana and Qais Ahmad have given proof of their batting skills and make it a strong batting line-up. 

Their bowlers haven’t had a great time so far and the side would look for economical spells from Dushmantha Chameera and Mathews with the new ball. Udana and Qais Ahmad have also gone for runs and they will need to bowl tighter lines. Russell brings in lot of experience to this bowling attack and Ashan Priyanjan’s presence adds to the bowling options for the skipper.

Dasun Shanaka’s side suffered a massive loss in the last game against the Jaffna Stallions where they went down by 66 runs in what was a poor show from their bowlers. Their batsmen have had a good time but Shanaka would be aware of the batting strength that the Kings have and expect a better show from his bowlers in this contest. 

Openers Niroshan Dickwella and Paul Stirling need to provide a solid start after their failure in the last game. Upul Tharanga has missed out in both the games so far and must do well. The middle order pair of Shanaka and Samit Patel look in good touch at the moment and shall need to carry their form forward. Anwar Ali and Lahiru Madushanka shall have to use the long handle well in this game. 

Their bowlers had a tough time in the last game and the side would require a promising start with the new ball from Lahiru Kumara and Ramesh Mendis. Anwar Ali too has been expensive and needs to bowl well in thus game. The side would rest its fate on Patel to bring his experience to play and guide the likes of Shanaka and Aftab Alam during the middle overs.

Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota’s wicket is a paradise for the batsmen as the ball comes on to the bat nicely. It is one of the toughest wickets for the fast bowlers with no assistance on offer. Spinners who turn the ball can make use of the slow nature of the surface and have done well in the past.
