The third game of Bangladesh Premier League 2018-19 will see Comilla Victorians take on Sylhet Sixers in Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.
Comilla Victorians performed exceedingly well in the previous edition of Bangladesh Premier League and topped the table in round-robin stages of the competition. The side lost to Dhaka Dynamites in the Qualifier 1 game of the competition last season. 2015 BPL Champions will have a lot to prove given their star-studded squad for this year’s competition.
On the other hand, Sylhet Sixers will be looking to much better after failing to qualify for the playoffs in the previous edition of Bangladesh Premier League. Sixers only managed to win four games out of twelve played last year.
Tamim Iqbal-led unit will be looking to get off to a decent start in this year’s competition. The franchise has certainly bolstered their batting resources by signing premier players like Evin Lewis and Steve Smith for this season.
In the batting department, the side will be relying heavily on in-form opener Tamim Iqbal, who was franchise’s leading run-scorer last season. Steve Smith and Evin Lewis are aggressive players who can score quick runs for the side in this format.
Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi and Liam Dawson are accomplished cricketers in the T20 format, who will provide value with bat and ball. Sri Lankan duo of Asela Gunaratne and Thisara Perera will be available for the later stages of the competition.
