Central District completely outplayed Otago when they met the first time around, but lost their way against Wellington in their last game, as they suffered a 50-run loss, a game they should’ve won comfortably. The Central District would be very disappointed by not winning their last game, given what position the bowlers put them in. The bowlers did a fantastic job in bowling out the Wellington batting lineup for 170 runs. Blair Tickner was sublime, picking up 3 wickets, but the star of the show was Seth Rance, who ended up with 4-27 in 9 overs, almost ensuring a win for the Central Districts.

The batting department crumbled like a pack of cards and could not do the job, as they were dismissed for 120. With 4 out of their top 6 getting out on a duck, there is little to nothing to talk about their batting performance. However, Doug Bracewell tried to put on a fight, scoring 59 off 57 balls. Central districts would want to do much better in the next game.
