Defending champions Chennai Super Kings need to get their act right as they meet Punjab Kings in the 11th game of the Indian Premier League 2022. CSK has lost both its games and they went down against the Lucknow Super Giants in their last game. Punjab Kings also come into this game with a loss against the Kolkata Knight Riders in a one-sided game.
Chennai Super Kings have had the upper hand over Punjab Kings and have won 7 out of 10 games between the two teams. Their batsmen made a strong comeback in the last game which will add to the side’s confidence here. Punjab Kings had shown their batting prowess in the opening game of the season, and they are a good side. As both sides feel pressure in this game, we expect to see a close contest.
Ravindra Jadeja’s side is in a spot of bother with two losses in their first two games. If it was a poor show with the bat in the first game against KKR, their bowlers let them down against the Lucknow Super Giants. The side failed to defend a score of 210 runs losing the game by 6 wickets. We expect to see a better show CSK desperately needs to get going.
Robin Uthappa did well in the last game opening the batting, but the side would need Ruturaj Gaikwad to score runs after two failures. In the middle order, the side did well in the last game with Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube and Ambati Rayudu scoring runs. Jadeja, MS Dhoni, and Dwaine Pretorius are good finishers in this format of the game and the side would expect runs from them.
Adam Milne must make use of his abilities with the new ball and do well in the company of Tushar Deshpande who failed to execute the plans towards the end of the last game. Moeen Ali must bowl in this game as he would strengthen the bowling in the middle overs along with Jadeja and Mitchell Santner. Dwayne Bravo has lived up to his reputation and the side would like to see him come up with good spells along with Pretorius.

Mayank Agarwal’s side suffered a batting collapse in the last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The side folded up for 137 runs failing to play its entire quota of overs. This eventually led to their 6-wicket loss against the Kolkata Knight Riders. They can least afford to do so in this game as well. Agarwal would be aware of CSK’s consecutive losses and aim to do well.
Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan form a strong opening pair and the team would expect a good start from them in this game. Bhanuka Rajapaksa played a blinder in the last game and the side would like to see him convert his start into a big score. They would also need Liam Livingstone and Raj Bawa to score suns after they failed in two games. Shahrukh Khan and Harpreet Brar are good hitters of the ball down the order.
Their bowling attack has proved ineffective in the two games the side has played. Kagiso Rabada must lead the attack and inflict early wounds sharing the new ball with Arshdeep Singh. Rahul Chahar was brilliant in the last game, and this would add to his confidence. Benny Howell is expected to get a game here and release Odean Smith. He will have to bowl in the right areas as CSK have great strength with the bat.

We expect a warm and humid evening in Mumbai on April 03. The wicket is as flat as it can get where batsmen can score runs easily. Bowlers would struggle in these conditions. The side batting first would have to have around 200 runs on the board to feel confident in this game.
The wicket at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai flat, and the ground has a fast outfield. We have seen batsmen score quick runs at this venue. Fast bowlers who use the conditions well have troubled batsmen in the early overs. Spinners have little margin for error as the ball has been skidding through to the batsmen.
Two games have been played here and we have seen big scores being chased easily. There is nothing on this track for the bowlers and setting up a score serves as a big challenge for the side batting first. Hence, the side winning the toss in this game shall have no hesitation in opting to bowl first.
Punjab Kings have trouble with the ball. In both games, their bowlers have lacked discipline and failed to trouble the batsmen. They will have to come up with a good show with the ball for the side to win this game. Chennai would be slightly down on confidence after two losses. However, they have good strength with the bat and shall start ahead in this game.
