Defending champions Chennai Super Kings are yet to get off the mark after three games and suffered a massive loss against Punjab Kings coming here. Things haven’t been any brighter for the Sunrisers Hyderabad as they went down against Lucknow Super Giants in their last game, a game they should have won. 

Chennai Super Kings would look to draw inspiration from the brilliant record they have had against Sunrisers. They have won the last eight out of ten games between two teams. This is a good opportunity for them to get back into form and CSK would like to grab it with both hands. SRH have serious problems with the form of their top order, and it remains to be seen if the side can turn it around here.

Ravindra Jadeja would be feeling the heat as the new skipper. It has been anything but a defending champion-like performance from the side. They have suffered three consecutive losses and went down by 54 runs against the Punjab Kings in their last game. The side needs to pull up its socks and do well both with the bat and the ball here. Their opponents are also under pressure and Jadeja would like to use this opportunity and break out of the losing spree. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad is struggling with his form, and he must do well at the top opening the batting with Robin Uthappa. The side needs to bring back Devon Conway and expect him to build partnerships with Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja in the middle order. Shivam Dube has done well and the side would like to see him add quick runs down the order with MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo as both these players are in good form. 

Chris Jordan bowled good likes in the last game and the side would like to see him get early breakthroughs along with the youngster Mukesh Choudhary. Jadeja and Moeen Ali haven’t impressed with the ball and the duo will have to bowl at better economy rates in this game. Bravo is a smart bowler, and the side would need him to deliver in the middle overs along with Dube.

Kane Williamson faces a tough challenge heading into this game. The side has lost both games and come here with a 12-run loss against the Lucknow Super Giants. In both these games, their top order has disappointed. Knowing their opponents aren’t in great form either Williamson would sniff an opportunity here. He will have to lead from the front to take his side to a win in this game. 

Abhishek Sharma and Williamson are yet to deliver, and the side would expect them to set up a strong platform opening the batting. Glenn Phillips is likely to make his way into the side and he must build partnerships with Nicholas Pooran and Rahul Tripathi. Washington Sundar, Abdul Samad, and Romario Shephard are good players down the order and runs would be expected from their bats. 

They need a good show from their bowlers as their batsmen are struggling right now. Shephard and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will need to get early breakthroughs for the side. Umran Malik is an important component in this attack, and he must bowl tight spells in the middle overs alongside T Natarajan. Sundar and Sharma must keep the run rate under check as their performances have been ordinary.
