Dhaka Platoon vs Rangpur Rangers – Round One!
Dhaka Platoon will win the match!
BPL 2019-20 season`s league phase has entered the last week and already two teams Rajshahi Royals and Chattogram Challengers have qualified for the play-offs. Five other teams are fighting out for the remaining two spots with Sylhet Thunder out of contention.
Dhaka Platoon and Rangpur Rangers are hanging in the middle part with their qualification still under question. Dhaka Platoon is the best placed among the other teams to qualify and even a win in any of the three matches will take them to the next round.
But, Rangpur Riders are at the cliff and they need to win both their remaining matches and hope the other results go their way to qualify. Rangpur Riders play both their matches against Dhaka Platoon and this might be a straight shootout for both teams to qualify.
Dhaka Platoon has won two consecutive matches after putting 170+ scores on board. Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque put a good opening stand of 45 runs inside the powerplay. Mominul Haque continued their good platform to set the match for a good finish. Asif Ali and Ariful Haque ensured a fitting finish with fireworks sharing a 54-run partnership of just 21 balls. Hasan Mahmud took 4 wickets to lead their charge with the ball.
Mashrafe Mortaza and Thisara Perera chipped in with a wicket each and keep up their momentum. Shadab Khan was excellent with the ball bowling a good spell of 4-0-25-1 to strangle the batsmen in middle overs. Premier pacer Wahab Riaz may return to the playing XI this match.
Asif Ali – Asif Ali had made scores of 39 & 55 in the last two matches at an unbelievable strike rate of 300 & 200 respectively. He has hit 8 sixes in the last two matches and is helping the team to get those extra 15-20 runs at the end.
Hasan Mahmud – Hasan Mahmud had figures of 4-0-32-4 in the last match and he took wickets in the powerplay, middle overs and final overs in the last match. He took a wicket in his each over to unsettle the batsmen.

Rangpur Rangers put a clinical performance against Sylhet Thunder to win the match. Skipper Shane Watson came up with a spirited 36-ball 68 alongside Mohammed Naim`s 42 runs in the match. Cameron Delport, Mohammed Nabi, and Fazle Mahmud played some good cameos to take their team total to an impressive 199 runs. Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Lewis Gregory took 2 wickets each and gave easy runs for the opposition. Mohammed Nabi and Cameron Delport chipped in a wicket each to complement their bowling attack.
Mohammed Naim – Naim has scores of 55, 24, & 42 in the last three matches and he helped his team to get a good score in powerplay overs. We expect him to give a rapid start in this match too. Mohammed Nabi – Nabi had a good all-round match with a 17-ball 23 & a bowling spell of 4-0-27-1 to help the team. Nabi is an excellent player who can contribute equally with the bat and ball in hand in the T20 matches.

Dhaka will have a hot and bright climate on the match day with no rain possibilities. We will have a full quota of overs without any interruption in this match.
Dhaka is one of the average scoring grounds in Bangladesh and pitch might play slow owing to it`s used nature. We can expect an average score of 160-170 runs.
The pitch is expected to slow down as the match progresses and it will tough to chase in second innings. Any score over 180 will be tough to chase.
Both teams are peaking at the right moment with Dhaka Platoon winning 4 of their last 5 matches and Rangpur Riders winning three out of their last 4 matches.
Dhaka Platoon has been more consistent throughout the season but Rangpur Riders have a slightly better team than Dhaka Platoon with international T20 stars.
We expect Dhaka Platoon to win this match.
