Delhi Capitals won their inaugural game after their name change in a grand fashion. They posted a mammoth score of 213 runs against a strong Mumbai Indians bowling attack. Rishab Pant led the charge by scoring 78 runs in just 27 balls. He took apart all the bowlers including Jasprit Bumrah in the opening match. Colin Ingram and Skihar Dhawan scored 40+ scores to provide good support to the team`s total.

Deepak Chahar bowled an economical spell of 4-0-17-0 in the powerplays and the rest of the bowling line up was untested last match.

Their batsmen crawled their way to the chase taking around 18 overs to chase down the target of 71 runs. Ambati Rayudu top scored by scoring 28 runs. Shane Watson struggled big time and was dismissed for a duck of 10 balls. They might be tempted to add Sam Billings or David Willey to provide more firepower to their batting line-up.
