Dubai Capitals successfully defended 165 runs at the Providence Stadium in Guyana in the opening match of the Global Super League 2025. Shakib Al Hasan, who scored 58 off 37 balls at number 5 to be the top batsman for DC, led the bowling effort with brilliant figures of 4 for 13 from his 4 overs.

Spinners have been very effective on this pitch. Along with Shaikb, the right-arm legbreak bowler Aryaman Varma, bowled at an economy under 6 r.p.o while picking up a crucial wicket of the opening batsman Dane Cleaver.
