Tournament: Indian Premier League 2020 | Format: T20 | Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE | Toss: To Bat
Bet NowIt is the second game of the IPL 2020 and the Delhi Capitals would be up against the Kings XI Punjab. Delhi Capitals had a great season in the last edition and they have a team of young and promising players. For Kings XI, the last few seasons have only been about their struggle. There has been a constant change in the side which has hurt their balance. They will need to fire as a unit to start the season with a win.
This will be the first game for both the teams and hence there would be pressure on both the camps to perform. Delhi Capitals have a good mix of all-rounders and this adds depth to their batting as well as bowling. It will be interesting to see if Kings XI is able to make good use of its resources in the game and start the season with a win.
Shreyas Iyer’s side had a great season last year but they couldn’t overcome the challenge posed by Chennai Super Kings in the 2nd Qualifier to finish third in the season. With a young team that has several exciting players, Iyer would be looking for a positive start this season. Having retained their core team from last year he would be looking for a good show from his team.
The side had a strong opening pair in Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw and both these players had done well last season and shall be looking to provide a positive start. Ajinkya Rahane, Iyer and Shimron Hetmyer solidify the middle order for the side. With Rishab Pant, Keemo Paul and Ravichandran Ashwin in the finishers’ role, the side bats deep and shall look to put up a big score.
Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma form a formidable new ball pair and they will look to trouble the Kings XI batsmen in the early overs of the game. Sandeep Lamichhane and Keemo Paul are fresh from their success in the CPL and make the bowling attack very strong. Ravichandran Ashwin’s experience in this format is a huge bonus for the side ahead of the game.
Best Batsman – Shikhar Dhawan
Best Bowler – Kagiso Rabada
Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Shikhar Dhawan, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ishant Sharma, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Keemo Paul

Lokesh Rahul would be taking charge of the side this season and he will look for a positive start in this game. Kings XI has been struggling for more than five seasons where they have always been poor starters in the tournament. The side would be missing out on some of their key players who are busy with their national sides. Rahul would look to maximize the use of his resources in the game.
Chris Gayle and skipper Lokesh Rahul make a formidable opening pair and they will need to get the side off to a quick start in this game. Nicholas Pooran did well in the CPl and shall look to repeat that magic here. Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh and Sarfaraz Khan strengthen the batting. With Karun Nair to follow the side has good strength in its batting unit.
They will look for a good start with the new ball from Mohammed Shami and Sheldon Cottrell. Both these bowlers hit the deck hard and can generate good pace from the surface. The spin bowling attack is very strong with Murugan Ashwin and Mujeeb ur Rahman and they will look forward to troubling the Delhi Capitals’ batsmen in this game.
Best Batsman – Lokesh Rahul
Best Bowler – Sheldon Cottrell
Lokesh Rahul (c), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Mandeep Singh, Sheldon Cottrell, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Mohammed Shami, Murugan Ashwin, Karun Nair, Sarfaraz Khan

The skies over Dubai would be clear on September 20 and we would have a good game on our hands. There is little on this surface for the fast bowlers as batsmen can play their strokes on the up. We expect this one to be a high scoring contest and the side that bats first in this game would be eying a score in the range of 175-180 runs to feel comfortable here.
Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a high-scoring venue where the pitch is a paradise to bat on and the outfield is very quick. Fast bowlers have always struggled here as there isn’t much for them on the surface. Spinners have enjoyed a good record as the ball turns sharply and also tends to stop on the batsmen.
This is a high scoring venue where the batsmen can play their strokes easily and over the years we have seen big scores being set here. Most teams have won batting first at this venue and thus we see either of the captains opting to bat first upon winning the toss in this game.
It is the first game of the season for both the teams and hence there would be pressure on both the camps to do well. Kings XI Punjab would be missing out on some of their biggest names in this game as these guys are busy representing their national sides and this is a huge shortcoming as of now. Delhi Capitals are a much better side on paper and have more resources in the batting and bowling departments. This will make them favorites going into this game.
