Delhi Capitals are still at the bottom of the points table in spite of few wins in recent games. They had a great chance against CSK and a win at Chepauk would have increased their chances of making it to the playoffs. 

David Warner did a fine job as a captain earlier in that game as he used his bowlers in such a way that DC had many options to choose from for the last 4 overs.

The bowlers have been impressive in Delhi’s recent outings. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Mitch Marsh are the top picks among the DC bowlers. It will be up to them once again as DC face a struggling PBKS at Kotla.

The pitch here has been decent for batting and we’ve witnessed some really good totals. If the pitch continues to behave the way it has for the last couple of matches, it will be a close contest between these two sides. 

And though there aren’t many big names in the DC lineup when it comes to finishers, the hosts would still back themselves in a run-chase against an out-of-form Punjab bowling attack. Phil Salt, Mitch Marsh, and Rilee Rossouw will be the key batters to watch out for in this game.

It will be up to these three to get DC to a competitive total. DC did not have a good season but they definitely have a strong team with some really talented players in every department.

Punjab Kings Preview

Punjab’s inconsistency just got worse as they lost their last two consecutive matches including a home game against MI. The bowling has been a nightmare with PBKS failing to defend 200+ total at home.

Rahul Chahar, who’s had a pretty disappointing season this year, finally found something to celebrate as he picked 2 for 23 against KKR in the last match.

Arshdeep Singh, a rising talent who’s donned the India jersey too, is struggling to deliver for Punjab Kings. He’s expensive and wicketless. Neither Rabada nor Ellis have been particularly impressive with the ball. Punjab have brought in Rishi Dhawan whose medium pace can be useful on a slowish track.

There is plenty of firepower in the batting department. Prabhsimran and Shikhar Dhawan can get Punjab off to a flier on their best day. PBKS have changed their number 3 too often, going from Taide to Short, and now Rajapaksa. 

This is no time for experimentation. The playoff spot is on the line here. Punjab needs to win this game and will need a stronger performance from the top order. The middle and lower order can deliver a strong finish but if the bowlers continue to bleed runs, no total would be enough for Punjab.
