We expect to see a cracker of a contest as the Delhi Capitals take on the Rajasthan Royals in the 34th game of the Indian Premier League 2022. The Capitals registered a massive 9-wicket win against the Punjab Kings in the last game and the side would be high on confidence. The Rajasthan Royals survived a scare against Kolkata Knight Riders to win their last game.
Delhi Capitals would take heart from their good record against the Royals where they have defeated them six times in the last seven games between the two sides. The Royals are looking like a well-oiled machine this season and we should have a good contest on our hands as the tournament enters its most important phase.
Rishabh Pant’s side crushed the Punjab Kings in the last game by 9 wickets. In one of the best demolishing acts of the season, the Capitals made a mockery of the small run chase. They would now take on one of the best sides this season and Pant would like his players to draw inspiration from the brilliant record they have against the Royals.
David Warner is striking the ball well and he would like to provide an electrifying start with Prithvi Shaw who played a great cameo in the last game. Pant, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rovman Powell make it a steady middle order and they will need to set the stage for the finishers to do well. In Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur the side enjoys good depth in the batting department.
Thakur struggled in the last game and the side should hand the new ball to Mustafizur Rahman and Khaleel Ahmed who have done well. Axar Patel has been the pick of the bowler for the side and along with Kuldeep Yadav form a very strong pair. The side would like to see Thakur bowl well in the death overs as the Royals have good hitters of the ball.

It was a narrow escape for Sanju Samson’s side in their last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. They put up 217 runs on the board and nearly threw it away to win by only 7 runs. Their bowlers have looked in poor form in the last two games and Sampson would like to see a better show against the Delhi Capitals against whom his side hasn’t done well in the last four seasons.
Jos Buttler has been in incredible form, and he hit his century of the season. He would need support from Devdutt Padikkal who has failed to convert his starts. Sampson did well in the last game, and he will need to build partnerships with Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag in this game. Down the order Karun Nair and Ravichandran Ashwin aren’t the best hitters of the ball and the side would like to see them make contributions.
Bowling has been a problem for the side in the last two games and they would need a good start from Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna. Ashwin hasn’t been at his best and the side would like to see him make use of his experience along with Yuzvendra Chahal who has had a good season. Obed McCoy needs to do well here and justify his selection in the side.

The weather is expected to be hot and humid in Mumbai on April 22. The pitch has looked good so far for batting this season and is expected to be friendly towards the batsmen. Bowlers have struggled here as there is little for them on the placid surface. It looks like a 180+ track and the side batting first would have that kind of score in mind.
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai has been a typical T20 venue where the batsmen have enjoyed batting on this surface. High-scoring games have been the norm at this venue in recent times. There is little in for the fast bowlers on this wicket but spinners who can use the turn have done well in the past.
Four out of six games here have been won by sides that have chased the score. The small size of the park makes it a tough venue to defend scores, especially in the evening. The side winning the toss here would have no hesitation in opting to bowl first.
Rajasthan Royals have struggled with the ball in the last two games and the side has failed to find the right bowling combination. Batting has been a two-man show for the team and they will need others to deliver for them to win this game. Delhi Capitals ticked all the boxes in the last game and have an excellent record against the Royals. This game is expected to go down the wire but our money would be on Delhi due to their batting depth.
