Tournament: Indian Premier League 2021 | Format: T20 | Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowThe Sunrisers Hyderabad would be under pressure as they take on the Delhi Capitals in the 33rd game of the Indian Premier League, 2021. The Sunrisers had won only once in the seven games they had played in India and one more loss would put them out of contention for a place in the playoffs. The Capitals are on the top of the points table, and they would look to continue the same way.
The Delhi Capitals has a very strong batting line-up and everyone in the top order has scored runs and this would add to their confidence. The side’s bowlers have also done well, and they would count on their chances against Hyderabad. It will be interesting to see if the Sunrisers can outperform Capitals and revive their confidence.
Rishabh Pant’s side had enjoyed a wonderful run in India and the skipper would like his side to start from where it had left. They had won six out of their eight games and dominated on most occasions. Though Shreyas Iyer returns to the side Pant would still lead the side given the kind of performances the side has produced under him. He would like to get the ball rolling again with a win in this game.
The side would like to see good starts from Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw who have so far enjoyed a good season. Iyer returns to the middle order and strengthens it along with Pant and Steven Smith. They have good hitters to follow down the order in Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel and Shimron Hetmyer and runs would be expected from them against a relatively weak attack that Sunrisers have.
The side would like to see early wickets in this game from Kagiso Rabada and Marcus Stoinis. They would aim to exploit the weakness that Sunrisers have had at the top. Patel and Amit Mishra had bowled well in India and the same would be expected from them. In Lukman Meriwala the side has a good 5th bowler.

Top Bowler – Kagiso Rabada
Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Steven Smith, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Shreyas Iyer, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Lukman Meriwala

The Sunrisers had a miserable campaign in India which had forced them to change their captain David Warner due to lack of form and appoint Kane Williamson in his place. The side had lost six out of the seven games it played earlier. Warner is expected to return as skipper here and shall hope that the break has worked to his side’s advantage. It will be a tough challenge and Warner would like to see a good show from his players.
David Warner and Abdul Samad need to do well at the top and put up a good opening wicket stand. This had been one of their biggest problems back in India. Kane Williamson brings in good strength to the middle order and runs and needs to build partnerships with Manish Pandey and Kedar Yadav. Down the order, the side would hope to see runs from Vijay Shankar, Sreevats Goswami, and Mohammad Nabi.
Khaleel Ahmed and Bhuvneshwar Kumar must get them early wickets in the game as the Delhi Capitals have powerful hitters at the top. Rashid Khan and Nabi would be tasked with putting breaks on the scoring with their variety. With Kedar Yadav and Shankar in the squad, the side has good variety in its attack, and they would have to bowl intelligently.

It would be hot and humid at Dubai on September 22 and this would make the conditions difficult for the bowlers. The surface isn’t expected to have much for the bowlers and batsmen would enjoy playing their strokes on this surface. The side that bats first in the game would need to target a score in the range of 180 runs.
The large outfield at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium offers a cushion to the bowlers given the flatness of the surface. However, it is a batsman-friendly surface and we have seen lots of runs being scored. There isn’t much for the fast bowlers on this track Spinners have done well here and picked wickets as the ball tends to turn on this track.
Most teams have preferred to bowl first in these wickets as the track doesn’t change much in character in the second innings. We have seen big run chases at this venue in the past and hence the side winning the toss here would have little hesitation in bowling first.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is under serious pressure and comes into this game with their backs to the wall. Most of their batsmen had looked in poor form when they played in India and can’t afford to lose any more games. Delhi Capitals on the other hand would come into this contest with their confidence high. They have better players in the side and this would make them favorites in this contest.
