It will be a battle of nerves in the 25th game of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, 2021-22 where Deccan Gladiators would be up against Team Abu Dhabi. The Gladiators have looked in brilliant form in the last few games and come here with a win against the Northern Warriors. Team Abu Dhabi also put its recent setbacks behind to win against The Chennai Braves.

The two sides had met earlier in the season and Team Abu Dhabi had registered a comfortable win in that game. They have a very powerful batting line-up and shall look to use it well here. It would be a tough battle as both sides have their batsmen in good form and we should see plenty of fireworks in the game.

Deccan Gladiators Preview

Wahab Riaz would be proud of the way his side has played in the last few games. They have won the last three games and now sit at the top of the points table with a place in the playoffs. The side comes here with a 19-run win against the Northern Warriors. They had lost against Team Abu Dhabi earlier and Riaz would like his side to put up a grand show in this game.

Tom Banton and Tom Kohler-Cadmore haven’t converted their starts in the last few games and the side would expect a big partnership from them in this game. Tom Moores and Andre Russell solidify the middle order for the side and they would aim for a good show here. In Najibullah Zadran, Odean Smith, and David Weise the side has powerful hitters to follow and they would be confident about their batting.

Riaz has bowled exceptionally well and he would look to strike early with Odea Smith who was expensive in the last game. Wanindu Hasaranga must use the conditions to his advantage in this game as Team Abu Dhabi has big hitters of the ball. The likes of Sultan Ahmed, Rumman Raees, and Russell would need to bowl better lines than they did in the last game leaking runs.

Deccan Gladiators Predicted Playing XI:

Wahab Riaz (c), Tom Banton, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Tom Moores (wk), Andre Russell, David Wiese, Odean Smith, Wanindu Hasaranga, Rumman Raees, Sultan Ahmed, Najibullah Zadran

Deccan Gladiators Actual Playing XI:

David Wiese, Najibullah Zadran, Tymal Mills, Sultan Ahmed, Anwar Ali, Tom Moores, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Andre Russell, Wanidu Hasaranga, Wahab Riaz, Odean Smith

Team Abu Dhabi Preview

After two consecutive losses where their experiments went wrong Liam Livingstone’s side found its mojo back with the 7-wicket win against The Chennai Braves. The side fielded its strongest Playing XI and got the results. Having secured a place in the playoffs, Livingstone would want to build momentum here. They are up against a strong side and need to play their best cricket here.

Philip Salt played a blinder in the last game and he would look to offer a good start with Paul Stirling who has been quiet in the last few games. Chris Gayle has been in excellent form and he strengthens the middle order with Livingstone and Colin Ingram. In Jamie Overton and Danny Briggs the side has good finishers and they will have an important role here.

Sheldon Cottrell bowled well in the last game and he would have to deliver a strong performance opening the bowling with Marchant de Lange. Livingstone looked good in the last game and has to bowl in the right areas given the kind of batsmen he would be up against. The side would look at the likes of Overton, Briggs, and Naveen-ul-Haq to do well in this game.

Team Abu Dhabi Predicted Playing XI:

Liam Livingstone (c), Philip Salt (wk), Paul Stirling, Chris Gayle, Colin Ingram, Jamie Overton, Marchant de Lange, Danny Briggs, Sheldon Cottrell, Naveen-ul-Haq, Muhammad Farooq

Weather Conditions

The skies would be clear over Abu Dhabi on November 29 and the wicket would be flat as we have seen for most parts of the tournament. The ball would come onto the bat nicely and allow batsmen to play their strokes easily. The side batting first in the game would need to put 140 runs on the board to feel comfortable here.

Venue Details

Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi is a large ground but it has a flat surface and the outfield is very fast which allows batsmen to score easily. There is little on this surface for the fast bowlers but spinners get good assistance from the track and they have got most of the wickets at this venue.

Toss: To Bowl

We have seen sides register massive wins chasing the score. In this format of the game setting up a score and defending it is a massive challenge. Most sides have opted to bowl first after winning the toss and ex expect this trend to continue in this game.

It would be a contest between two sides that have shown great form. Deccan Gladiators come here with three consecutive wins but their bowling attack has been found short of form on most occasions and this would be worrying for the side. Team Abu Dhabi has good strength in their batting and the side bats deep and this would put them slightly ahead in the game.
