Our prediction is Durban Heat to win.
After the excitement and ecstasy of the first ever T20 league in South Africa and the end of their opening matches, the teams would be looking to be in the top half of the points table along with finding their XI. One of the tournament favorites and star-studded team Durban Heats would be eyeing to get their maiden victory after their loss to the Cape Town Blitz. Durban heats are full of firepower with likes of Amla, Albie Morkel, Zondo, Van Wyk, Philander, Abbott, Maharaj, who are now joined by David Miller and Klassen from their national duties. Durban heats are waiting for the No.1 T20 bowler Afghan Superstar Rashid Khan to join their side.
On the other hand, Tshwane Spartans led by the Superman Ab de Villiers will be looking to extend their winning momentum after their last ball nail-biting win over Paarl Rocks. Tshwane Spartans won their maiden victory after their loss to the Cape Town Blitz on the opening day. Tshwane Spartans team comprises of a host of batting stars Eoin Morgan, Dean Elgar, Rossouw, AB De Villiers. Thenis de Bryun, with all-rounders Sri-Lankan Jeevan Mendis, Zimbabwean duo of Sikander Raza and Sean Williams. They are also excited with the return pace spearhead Lungi Ngidi who returns after national duty.
DURBAN HEAT REVIEW
Expected Playing XI: Albie Morkel (C), Heinrich Klassen (wk), Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Khaya Zondo, David Miller, Vern Philander, P Subrayen, Keshav Maharaj, Kyle Abbott, Merchant de Lange.
The duo of David Miller and Heinrich Klassen are expected to be back in the playing XI and Keeper Morne van Wyk may miss out from the playing XI. They might go in the same bowling with spin duo of Subrayen and Maharaj.
Hashim Amla – Returning after a long rehab from injury, amla will be required to provide some good starts and play long innings to regain his form and fitness.
David Miller – Back from Australia tour, David miller will like to score runs and continue his good form.
Keshav Maharaj – Maharaj will be expected to weave his magic around the opponent’s batsmen and control the run flow. Despite the loss, Maharaj was exceptional in the last match.
Missing player: Rashid Khan
TSHWANE SPARTANS REVIEW
Expected Playing XI: AB de Villiers (C), GL Cloete (Wk), Thenis de Bruyn, Rilee Rossouw, Dean Elgar, Tony de Zorzi, Rory Kleinvelt, Andy Birch, Jeevan Mendis, Robbie Frylinck, Lungi Ngidi
Lungi Ngidi will replace Sipamla in the playing XI and lead the pace attack. Their batting will be expected to be the same. Dean Elgar is expected to fit to play after an injury during fielding last match.
AB de Villiers – Amongst the runs in both matches, AB will be looking to score big. With small ground size Ab will bring 360-degree shot-making to the fore. Once he gets going, he is unstoppable.
Thenis de Bryun – He was sublime in last match with his 66 runs of 38 balls. He will be look continue his run of form and keep scoring runs at a good rate.
Lungi Ngidi – Ngidi will be keen to prove his mettle as a T20 bowler. He was a great assest to CSK team in the IPL. He would like to replicate his success from IPL here.
Missing player: Eoin Morgan
The match is scheduled to start at local time 2.00 PM, so lesser chances of the dew and very less possibility of rain interfering the match. We are supposed to get a match with a full quota of 40 overs. Durban pitch is known to favor batsmen traditionally and it has smaller boundaries. We can expect a flurry of runs from both the sides. It is expected to be a high scoring contest. The likes of AB de Villiers, David Miller, Klassen are expected to take full advantage of smaller size of the boundaries. The afternoon start will help the spinners Maharaj and Mendis to grip and turn the ball from the dry areas.
TOSS - WIN the toss, BOWL First
Durban has been a happy hunting ground for chasing teams. The match expected in the afternoon heat and full of star-studded batting line ups, both the teams will be looking to bowl first upon winning the toss.
Durban heats to win in a high-scoring match. Durban Heat looks more formidable team with both the bat and ball with the return of Klassen and Miller. And with Tshwane Spartans leaking runs at a higher rate in their both matches; Durban Heat looks like the favorites to win the high-voltage contest.
