The 42nd game of BPL 2019 will be an all-important one for the Dhaka Dynamites as a win here would take them ahead of Rajshahi Kings and earn them a berth in the play-offs. Their opponents Khulna Titans are in complete doldrums and shall only be playing for pride in the next game. Titans have won just two games this season and Dynamites wouldn’t like to become their third victim.  

Dhaka Dynamites had won the last game against Titans by a huge margin of 105 runs and they would like to maintain the status-quo. It is a must-win game for them and hence the Dynamites are likely to play the game on full steam.

They are going through a poor run at the moment and have lost their last five games. The last loss against Comilla Victorians by a single run would have definitely hurt the moral of the side. But with a must-win game against a relatively weaker opponent they would count their chances.  

The Dynamites batted poorly against Victorians failing to chase a total of 127 runs. Mizanur Rahman, Upul Tharanga, Rony Talukdar and Shakib Al Hassan didn't trouble the scorers. There was handy contribution from Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell in the last game. They have good batsmen in the side and they would have to perform in the next game. 

Their bowlers did well in the last game after a string of failures. Rubel Hossain picked up 4 important wickets while Andre Russell, Shuvagata Hom and Shakib bowled economical spells in the last game. With Sunil Narine in the side they have a strong bowling line-up and would challenge the Titans in the next game.

Khulna Titans Preview

The next game is mere official formality for the side which has won just two games this season. They have batted and bowled poorly on most occasions and the team would want to walk away with some pride from the next game. 

Brendan Taylor and Junaid Siddique played well in the last game setting up a good opening stand. Dawid Malan, skipper Mahmudullah and Carlos Brathwaite also did well with the bat. In fact the batting unit has fired for the side in most games and they would look forward to doing the same in the next game as well. 

It was a horrible performance from the blowers in the last game where they ended up conceding 237 runs. Apart from Mahmudullah none of the bowlers looked anywhere close to being in competitive mood. Shariful Islam, Saddam Hossaon and David Wiese all leaked runs and they would need to better their form if they wish to compete in the next game.

Weather Conditions

The weather is expected to be overcast in the evening in Dhaka on 02 February. This might just offer some assistance to the fast bowlers. But it has been an easy wicket to bat on as we have seen so far in the league and batsmen would count on their chances in the next game. Spinners would have a tough time bowling in the second innings with the dew. 

VENUE

There have been several high scoring games on the Shere Bangla National Stadium track this season. It is a good wicket to bat on where the ball comes onto the bat easily making it easy for stroke play.  Fast bowlers have also got good bargain out of this wicket while spinners find it extremely tough to ball here once the ball gets wet.

Toss: To Bowl

Dew has put bowling attacks out of motion in the second innings of the game in most evening games. Spinners find it extremely difficult to grip the ball that gets wet in the outfield. Teams have preferred to bowl first on this track in the evening games and we expect to see the same in the upcoming game as well.
