Samit Patel and Captain Dasun Shanaka also gave their wickets away to see Viking lose their sixth wicket with the side needing another 41 runs to win the game.
For Dambulla Viking, Afghanistan all-rounder Samiullah Shinwari put in a match-winning performance with the bat and finished the innings with the top-score of 46 not out off 20 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. He was well supported by Ramesh Mendis, who chipped in with 13 runs off 7 balls with the help of one four and one six.
