Defending champions head into the playoffs with four wins and three losses. They’ve looked steady overall but haven’t quite found their consistency throughout the campaign. A bit more control in the playoffs could help their cause.
Shivam Singh has been their main man with the bat, scoring 284 runs in seven innings while striking at 140. He already has two fifties and will be expected to bring his best once again.
Vimal Khumar and captain Ravichandran Ashwin have added quick runs at the top and often set things up nicely. Ashwin, in particular, has batted with confidence and is now the team’s second-highest run scorer with 192 in seven matches.
Baba Indrajith and Hunny Saini have had their moments, but for the middle order to hold its shape, they will need to contribute more consistently.
The bowling unit looks well-rounded. Sandeep Warrier and Ganeshan Periyaswamy have shared 14 wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin, with nine, and Varun Chakaravarthy, with eight, have kept things tight and struck at important stages in the middle.
Shivam Singh has scored 284 runs in 7 matches this season, averaging 56.80. He is the leading run-scorer for the Dindigul Dragons and is in fine form heading into the eliminator match against the Trichy Grand Cholas. He has a phenomenal record at Dindigul, where he scored 307 runs in 6 matches, averaging 61.4.

Trichy Grand Cholas turned their season around late in the group stage to punch their ticket to the playoffs. They opened the season with three straight losses but bounced back with three wins from their next four games. Their final group clash was against Dindigul Dragons, the same team they’ll now face in the Eliminator, and they came out on top to clinch their playoff spot.
R Rajkumar has been the standout in their batting line-up, scoring 200 runs across seven innings with a blazing strike rate of 206. He also bowls a few overs and usually keeps the run flow under control in the middle phase.
Sanjay Yadav and Jagatheesan Kousik have both stepped up lately, each crossing 175 runs this season and giving the middle order some much-needed lift.
With the ball, V Athisayaraj Davidson has led the charge, collecting 11 wickets from seven matches at an economy of 8.60. K Easwaran and P Saravana Kumar have chipped in with a combined 15 wickets. Beyond that trio, others in the bowling line-up have offered only limited support.

The surface at the NPR College Ground usually offers a decent balance between bat and ball in T20 matches. Batters often have to work harder as the match progresses and the pitch starts to slow down. Spinners tend to come in early and can take charge during the middle overs. Fast bowlers who mix up their pace are usually the ones who find the most success on this ground.
As for the weather in Dindigul on Wednesday evening, the forecast suggests cloudy skies with a chance of thunderstorms in some areas during the afternoon.
The average score batting first at the NPR College Ground is 158. The highest total posted at the venue this season is Lyca Kovai Kings’ 203-6 versus Salem Spartans. For the Eliminator, we reckon a score above 180 should put pressure on the chasing side.
We back the home team Dindigul Dragons to win the coin toss in the eliminator match against the Trichy Grand Cholas.
At NPR College Ground this season, teams have bowled first in three out of four matches after winning the toss. With chasing proving effective so far, the same approach is expected in the Eliminator.
Defending champs Dindigul Dragons, despite not being at their best this season, have done enough to reach the Eliminator and cannot be counted out. If they manage to hit the right rhythm, they’ll be a tough side to stop. Trichy Grand Cholas, on the other hand, have built up steam with two straight wins to make it to the playoffs. Confidence will be high, especially since they beat Dindigul in the group stage. This has all the makings of a tight contest where either team can come out on top. That said, Dindigul’s depth and stronger bowling unit gives them a slight 51-49 advantage in this clash.
We are backing Dindigul Dragons as the winners of the Eliminator.
