Can Titans take revenge for the first game of the tournament against Dolphins?
We predict that the Dolphins will defeat the Titans.
This is the 2nd match between Titans and Dolphins, going to be played at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom on Thursday. Dolphins registered a comfortable win by 76 runs in the last match played between them on Saturday. Both teams are top contenders for the trophy this year and both have shown form according to that in the previous few seasons. Dolphins are the defending champions while the Titans won this title of the 2018-19 season.
Dolphins have currently secured the first rank in Pool A, after winning both matches with 9 points from 2, while Titans placed themselves at the 3rd position in Pool A.
This match will be important for both sides as Dolphins will be looking forward to continuing their winning campaign, while Titans will be searching for their first win on Thursday.
Defending champions are looking strong with their unit and played superbly in the first match of the tournament against Titans. Last year’s leading run-scorer Grant Roelofsen is in good form once again and has shown his skills in the first match. Dolphins have started their winning campaign against the Titans after defeating them by 76 runs. Opening batsman Grant Roelofsen delivered a super knock of 65 runs from 69 balls. In the lower order, Senuram Muthusamy scored brilliant 70 runs from 67 balls which helped them to put 272 runs on the board.
Dolphins had managed to restrict Titans on 196 runs only with the help of Kerwin Mungroo’s superb spell of 2 wickets for 16 runs in his 7 overs and Ruan de Swardt’s 3 wickets for 30 runs. In the second match against Knights, they have defeated Knights by 53 runs after putting the total of 290 on the board with the help of Grant Roelofsen’s superb knick of 92 runs.
Dolphins are looking really strong this year as well and they will be looking to continue their winning momentum up against the Titans.

Grant Thomson’s side struggled in their first match against the Dolphins. After missing a few essential players they collapsed down against Dolphins in the first match. They will be looking to overcome this issue on Thursday. While chasing the target of 273 runs against Dolphins in the first match, Titans batting lineup wasn’t in good form as no batsman could manage to score 50 runs on the board. Except for T de Bruyn’s fighting knock of 36 from 52 balls, no one helped him to put a good partnership on the board.
In the bowling department, new signing Kyle Abbott managed to pick 1 wicket for 55 runs in his spell of 9 overs. To help him Dayyaan Galiem bowled superbly and picked up 2 wickets for 22 runs with Thando Ntini who picked up 2 wickets for 62 runs in his 10 overs. Titans’ second match got abandoned and hence they are now in the last position in the points table of Pool A.
Overall Titan’s squad is looking good and they will be searching for their first win of the season against the Dolphins on Thursday.

The weather is mostly cloudy on match day and there are 30-50% chances of precipitation on the match day. The maximum and minimum temperature of the ground will be in the range of 26°C-18°C respectively.
The venue for this match is Senwes Park. This picturesque ground had conducted international matches of all formats but it is primarily favourite for the domestic season of South Africa. Many domestics cups have been played on this ground and Momentum Cup is one of them which will be starting on this ground on Saturday.
The ground has conducted a total of 19 ODIs and offers an advantage to batsmen. The pitch is easy while chasing the target. The team who bowled first have won 10 matches while the team who batted first have won 7 matches. 2 matches remained resultless. But in this domestic season team who have batted first won all 2 games at this venue. By looking at current conditions, it will be good for the team to win the toss and choose to bat first on this ground.
Both teams are looking strong in this season but in terms of the batting department, the Dolphins have a slight edge over the Titans. In the first match also Dolphins managed to put the big score on the board and easily defended it with a good bowling department. Similarly, with important missing players from the Titans’ side, it will be difficult for them to beat Dolphins in this 2nd game.
We predict that the Dolphins will defeat the Titans.
