Kingsmead, Durban will host the 23rd game of the Momentum One Day Cup. Table toppers Titans who have sealed a spot for themselves in the semi-finals shall take on Dolphins in the next game. For the Dolphins the last few games haven’t gone well and the side has lost last two out of their three games. Titans on the other have won their last four games which would add confidence to the side.

At the start of the season Dolphins has won against the Titans in a closely fought encounter. Titans would definitely be looking to avenge that loss in the next game and it would surely be one of the most interesting encounters of the season so far.

Dolphins Preview

Khaya Zondo would have been slightly upset with the last game’s loss against the Cape Cobras. His batsmen did well in a rain curtailed game only to be let down by the bowlers. Having won against the Titans earlier he would be hoping to do well in the next game.

The batting looks in good form for the side with Sarel Erwee having scored a blistering hundred in the last game. Vaughn van Jaarsveld also returned to form which is good news for the side. Khaya Zondo and Dane Vilas have done well in previous games and this makes them quite a handy batting line-up who would look to do well against the Titans’ strong bowling attack.

Their bowlers threw away the last game. Apart from Prenelan Subrayen none of the bowlers troubled the opponents. This was surprising as Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy had done well earlier in the season and perhaps the side is missing the services of Andile Phehlukwayo and Imran Tahir who are playing for the national side.

Dolphins Predicted Playing XI:

Morne van Wyk, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Dane Vilas (wk), Calvin Savage , Prenelan Subrayen, Keshav Maharaj, Khaya Zondo (c), Sarel Erwee, Senuran Muthusamy, Okuhle Cele, Kerwin Mungroo.

Dolphins Actual Playing XI:

P Subrayen, Sibonelo Makhanya, Eathan Bosch, Keshav Maharaj, Sarel Erwee, Senuran Muthusamy, DJ Vilas, Kerwin Mungroo, Marques Ackerman, Okuhle Cele, VBV Jaarsveld

Titans Preview

Titans are riding on great form at the moment and their skipper Heinrich Klaasen would have been proud with their two back to back wins against the Warriors. Sitting at the top of the points table the side would look to win against the Dolphins in the next game.

Jonathan Vandiar played well till he retired himself out in the last game. Diego Rosier played a swashbuckling knock while Heino Kuhn has looked in good form. With the Top 3 in great form at the moment the side would be beaming with confidence. Dean Elgar, Heinrich Klaasen and Farhaan Behardien complete a great batting order for the side with all of them having scored runs this season. Chris Morris towards the end of the innings adds to the strength of the batting line-up.

Chris Morris and Junior Dala were in very good form with the ball in the last game picking four wickets each and keeping it tight especially Morris. Dean Elgar also bowled a tight spell. The likes of Corbin Bosch and Gregory Mahlokwana have done well earlier in the season and would like to carry on with the same momentum.

Titans Actual Playing XI:

Shaun von Berg, DS Rosier, JD Vandiar, TL Moreki, Heinrich Klaasen, Dean Elgar, Junior Dala, Heino Kuhn, Chris Morris, Farhaan Behardien, Gregory Mahlokwana

Weather Conditions

There is prediction for dry weather on the 15th of March at Durban which should make it a good contest between the bat and the ball. Fast bowlers have done well on this surface as it offers them assistance but we expect the track to be flatter as it has hosted several games already this season.

Venue

Kingsmead Durban has over the years been a good ground for the fast bowlers. But batsmen who stick to the wicket and build on their innings have also done well in this ground. A dry surface creates equal opportunity for both the batsmen as well as the bowlers on this ground

Toss: To Bat

The forecast is for mainly clear weather and given the fact that there haven’t been much of rain over the last few days would make it a good surface to bat on if the top order sees through the first few overs. The captain winning the toss shall elect to bat on this surface.

It will be a contest between two of the best sides in the tournament. Titans are high on confidence having won the last four games with their batting as well as bowling looking in great shape. Dolphins on the other hand come into this game having suffered a loss against Cape Cobras. Given the form we have seen from both the sides in the last few games Titans is definitely the side to bet on going into this game.
