The 11th game of the Momentum One Day Cup will see the two best sides of the season so far meet at Kingsmead, Durban. Dolphins who are playing in their home ground have won all the three games that the side has played. Warriors on the other hand are undefeated and have seen one of their games being washed away. It will be a contest that would decide supremacy for rest of the season.

Dolphins are the defending champions but had lost to the Warriors in the last season and it will be interesting to see which of the two sides walks away with the win in the next game.

Dolphins Preview

Khaya Zondo’s side has so far played like the defending champions winning all their three games. Their batsmen and bowlers are looking in good form and this will give the side lot of confidence going into the next game.

Vaughn van Jaarsveld and his opening partner Morne van Wyk look in great form going into this game with the former already having scored a hundred. Dane Villas and David Miller have also looked in good touch with the bat in the three games that the side has played so far. Khaya Zondo and Andile Phehlukwayo go into this match with great confidence from their last game’s performance.

Imran Tahir and Andile Phehlukwayo their most experienced bowlers did well in the last game which adds to the confidence of the side. Apart from the season opener their bowling has done well with guys like Mthokozisi Shezi and Calvin Savage bowling in the right areas which will make it hard for the Warriors batsmen to score against them.

Dolphins Predicted Playing XI:

Morne van Wyk, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, David Miller, Imran Tahir, Dane Vilas (wk), Calvin Savage, Prenelan Subrayen, Andile Phehlukwayo, Mthokozisi Shezi, Khaya Zondo (c), Senuran Muthusamy.

Warriors Preview

JJ Smuts would be happy with the way in which his side defended a low score in the last game against Knights. While the batsmen had a bad day in office the bowlers compensated and won the game for the side.

Gihahn Cloete and Matthew Breetzke weren’t able to convert their starts in the last game but they have done well in the season so far. Lesiba Ngoepe and Yaseen Vallie are looking in good form in the middle and the lower order which has players like JJ Smuts, Sinethemba Qeshile and Andrew Birch which makes their batting look strong.

Their bowlers defended a small total successfully in the last game where Andrew Birch, Anrich Nortje and skipper JJ Smuts stood out with their line and length. Lutho Sipamla who had done well in the first game also adds strength to their bowling attack and together they will make it tough for the Dolphins batsmen in the upcoming game.

Warriors Predicted Playing XI:

JJ Smuts (c), Andrew Birch, Gihahn Cloete (wk), Yaseen Vallie, Lesiba Ngoepe, Christiaan Jonker, Sisanda Magala, Lutho Sipamla, Anrich Nortje, Matthew Breetzke, Sinethemba Qeshile.

Weather Conditions

There is forecast for overcast conditions at Durban on the 26th of February, 2019. The pitch at Durban is expected to be a good one for batting but since we have prediction for the overcast conditions a score around the 260-280 run mark will make the game competitive.

Venue

Kingsmead Durban has been a happy hunting ground for fast bowlers over the years with the pitch offering assistance to the fast bowlers. The ball comes on to the bat quickly which also makes it a great ground for stroke making. It is a ground where there is something for both the batsmen and the bowlers.

Toss: To Bowl

There have been spells of rain over the last two weeks and hence both the sides would have to account for rain interruptions in their planning. The side chasing the score would have an advantage in such an event and hence it is a win the toss bowl first kind of scenario.

It is battle of the two best teams of the season so far. Dolphins have looked a great team having won all their three games so far while Warriors have won two out of their three games with the other one being abandoned due to rain. Going into the game Dolphins surely look the better side and punters would surely love to stake their money on them to win the upcoming game!
