Tournament: Momentum One Day Cup | Format: One Day Cricket | Venue: Kingsmead, Durban | Toss: To Bat
Bet NowIt is the second semi-final of the Momentum One Day Cup 2019 and Dolphins shall take on the Warriors at Kingsmead, Durban. There isn’t much to choose between the two sides as they have each won five games to earn their place in the semi-final. It has been dip in form for the Warriors as they have lost four out of their last five games while Dolphins are still going strong.
In the league stages each team had one a game against one another and it would be worth watching which of these sides is able to hold onto its nerves in a high pressure contest and emerge as the winners.
With five wins in 10 games it was kind of a mixed season for the Dolphins. Khaya Zondo’s side had started well winning four out of their first five game and they had a poor run. As they play the semis the team would like to play impressively and make it to the final of the season.
Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Sarel Erwee the openers would be confident going into this game. The duo is among the highest run getter for the season. Marques Ackerman, Dane Vilas, Khaya Zondo and Sibonelo Makhanya and between them they have got good amount of runs this season. With Andile Phehlukwayo and Keshav Maharaj down the order the team would count its chances while batting.
The bowling attack is good for the side especially with the return of Andile Phehlukwayo who brings in vast amounts of experience to the side. Kerwin Mungroo and Senuran Muthusamy have also done well in the recent games and with Keshav Maharaj brining in his spin the attack looks strong.

JJ Smuts’ team is in a bit of bother at the moment. Having started the season with 4 wins in 5 games the side has managed just one win in its last five games. They would have to improve upon their form in the upcoming game if they want to defeat a strong Dolphins team and make it to the final of this tournament.
Gihahn Cloete and Matthew Breetzke after having struggled for a few games gave their team a good start with Breetzke scoring a hundred. JJ Smuts also looked in great form for his unbeaten 92. The middle order has good players in Yaseen Vallie, Lesiba Ngoepe and Sithembile Langa and they would look to give their side a good start in the next game.
Lutho Sipamla’s return in the next game would make the bowling attack strong as he has been troubling the batmen in most games. JJ Smuts has also done well with the ball and if there is good support from the likes of Thomas Marco Marais and Jade de Klerk the side would do well in the next game.
JJ Smuts (c), Gihahn Cloete (wk), Yaseen Vallie, Basheeru-Deen Walters, Lesiba Ngoepe, Sisanda Magala, Matthew Breetzke, Jade de Klerk, Marco Marais, Sithembile Langa, Lutho Sipamla.

It is expected to be a bright and sunny day on the 28th of March at Durban which should make it a good game of cricket. The ball should come nicely to the bat. This should make it a good surface to bat on and the side batting first will try and pose of a score in excess of 300 runs.
Kingsmead, Durban offers good assistance to the fast bowlers as well as batsman and this is the reason it is considered among the most sporting wickets in the country. The batsman love batting on this surface while the blowers get good bargain out of this wicket in the early overs of the game.
Since the weather forecast is clear and sunny the captain winning the toss would like to bat first and set up an imposing score for the opponents to chase. Once the openers see off the new ball batting is expected to become easy on this surface and it looks set of a huge score.
There isn’t much to choose between the two sides Dolphins and Warriors as each of them have won five games in the season won a game each when they met in league stage. However Warriors have shown dip in their form losing four out of their last five games this season. If form is anything to go by putting money on the Dolphins would seem like a smart thing to do at this moment!
