Glamorgan take on the Essex in their opening encounters. Glamorgan will be without the services of their regular Skipper Colin Ingram due to his IPL duties. Nicholas Selman, Connor Brown and Kiran Carlsen form the core of the batting line-up and are expected to score big this season.

They have roped in the services of Billy Root, Charlie hemprey and Australian Marnus Labuschagne and traded out Opener Aneurin Donald to Hampshire. Chris Crooke takes over the wicket taking duties in the playing XI.  Timm Van der Gugten, Lukas Carey and Graham Wagg form the pace combination for the team. They will be supported by the likes of David Lloyd, Andrew Salter and Kiran Carlson in the spin bowling with their off breaks.

Essex team had a good tournament last season in the league stages but was knocked out by Yorkshire in the play-offs. They are lead by the experienced Tom Westley. Weather Conditions

Cardiff is a good batting pitch and teams will enjoy batting on this surface. The pace bowlers may get swing and bounce in the early overs with the new ball. The average score in this pitch is around 280-300 runs. Cardiff is supposed to have a good climate with 20-25% chances of rain on the match day.

Toss: WIN the toss, BOWL First

Teams batting second have won two out of three matches played here last season and overall won 70% of matches are won by chasing here. Both teams will look to chse down the total in this match.

Essex eagles have a better team than Glamorgan on the paper and they look strong in all aspects of the game.  Glamorgan are left without the services of their full-time skipper Colin Ingram further adds to their woes. So we expect Essex Eagles to win the match!
