Gloucestershire to win
Tournament: VITALITY T20 BLAST 2020 | Format: T20 | Venue: Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, England | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowGlamorgan will be playing Gloucestershire at their home ground Sophia Gardens, Cardiff in the next game of the Central Group in the T20 Blast 2020. The hosts have had a very poor season and won just two games and come here having suffered a big loss against Somerset. Gloucestershire on the other hand won their previous game against the Birmingham Bears by 50 runs and the side is looking in good form at the moment.
Gloucestershire have enjoyed a great run since losing their only game in the season which was against Glamorgan. They have won the last six games in a row and have momentum on their side. The team is batting well and its bowlers have also done well. It will be interesting to see whether Glamorgan is able to break this winning run and make it two out of two against Gloucestershire this season.
Chris Cooke’s side suffered yet another loss in their previous game against Somerset where they lost by 66 runs due to poor efforts from their batsmen and bowlers. They are out of the contention for the quarterfinals and have to play for pride in this game. Cooke would like to draw inspiration from their earlier game against Gloucestershire which they had won.
Their top order has been silent for most of the season and the side would be expecting a good show from David Lloyd and Nicholas Selman in this game. Cooke, Callum Taylor and Andrew Balbirnie will need to score in this game as they have missed out in the last few. Owen Morgan and Andrew Salter look in decent form down the order and the side would expect quick runs from them.
Prem Sisodiya has stood out for his performance with the ball but others haven’t quite really done well in thus season. Andrew Salter has been inconsistent and needs to bowl in the right areas. Ruaidhri Smith, Marchant de Lange and Timm van der Gugten have failed as far as being consistent is concerned and the side would expect better show from them.

Six wins in a row has taken Jack Taylor’s side to the top of the points table and they have earned an entry into the quarterfinal. The side won against Birmingham Bears by 50 runs in the last game in what was another comprehensive win from the side. Taylor would look to continue with the same momentum and avenge the loss they suffered against Glamorgan earlier in the season.
Batting looks very strong for the side with openers Miles Hammond and Chris Dent in good form at the moment. Ian Cockbain has been one of the top run getters this season and he makes the middle order very strong along with Ryan Higgins and Taylor. James Bracey, George Scott and Graeme van Buuren add depth to this batting line-up.
Graeme van Buuren and David Payne have been good with the new ball and picked up early wickets in most of the games and make this bowling attack very strong. Matt Taylor, Tom Smith and Higgins bowled well in the last game and they would be carrying this confidence into this game.

It will be a bright and sunny day in Cardiff on September 18 which will make batting conditions slightly easy compared to what we have seen this season. The ball would come on to the bat nicely though fast bowlers would see some assistance in the early overs of the game. The side that bats first would have to eye a score in excess of 160 runs would be required by the side batting first.
Sophia Gardens, Cardiff offers assistance to the fast bowlers in the early overs of the game but batsmen are also able to play their strokes as there is true pace and bounce on this surface. Spinners have enjoyed success as the large size of the ground makes it a challenge for the batsmen to hit boundaries.
There has been some assistance for the bowlers on this track in the early overs. The pitch stays the same throughout the game and most teams have preferred to bowl here first in the past. Hence, we see the side winning the toss preferring to bowl here upon winning the toss in their bid to keep the opponents to a small total.
The two sides have had different kinds of form leading up to this game. Glamorgan have struggled to find form and play as a well-gelled unit. Their top order is looking in poor form at the moment and this is creating problems for the side. Gloucestershire on the other hand has enjoyed a great with six straight wins. Their top order has been consistent and the bowlers have also done a good job so far and this will make them favorites in this game.
