Bet NowIn the next game of the Central Group in the T20 Blast 2020, Glamorgan would be taking on the Northamptonshire Steelbacks at their home ground. The Northamptonshire Steelbacks come here after suffering a loss against Gloucestershire. This after the side has won four consecutive games. Glamorgan have been in poor form and have lost the last four games and shall be looking for a win.
This game would be very important for Northamptonshire Steelbacks as a win here would put them back on the top of the points table nearly ensuring them of an entry into the quarterfinals. They would be looking to do well here. For Glamorgan this will be all about salvaging lost pride as the side is well out of contention for the quarterfinals.
Four losses in their last four games have pushed Chris Cooke’s side out of the contention for the quarterfinals. It was yet another poor show with the bat from the team in the last game against Birmingham Bears where they went down by 13 runs. Cooke will expect a good show from his side to restore some pride at home in this game.
They will expect consistency from their batsmen in this game where openers David Lloyd and Nicholas Selman will need to provide a good start. Andrew Balbirnie has done well so far and Cooke has also been in good form. There has been much contribution down the order which is hurting the side and they will need good hitting towards the end from Marchant de Lange, Owen Morgan and Callum Taylor.
Prem Sisodiya has been in good form with the ball but the rest of the bowling hasn’t lived up to the expectations. Andrew Salter has been inconsistent and he will need to do well with the new ball. Ruaidhri Smith, Marchant de Lange and Timm van der Gugten will have to bowl tighter spells as they are up against a very strong batting line-up.

Joshua Cobb’s side suffered the first loss of the season in the last game against Gloucestershire. It was a bad show from their bowlers which saw the side going down by 35 runs in the game. Having already won their previous game against Glamorgan the side would start confidently in this game.
Openers Paul Stirling and Richard Levi look in good form and had played well even in the last game. The side would need a good start from them here. Cobb, Adam Rossington and Alex Wakely have all done well so far and they add good strength to the middle order. In Tom Sole, Luke Procter and Graeme White the side has good batting to follow down the order.
Their bowlers had a bad day in the last game and the side would look to erase that against Glamorgan. They will need a positive start from Ben Sanderson and Cobb. White and Procter were economical in the last game and they would be looking to bowl tight spells in this one too and trouble Glamorgan’s batting which looks out of form.

Weather conditions would be good at Cardiff on September 13 and we expect to see a good game. The track has played well this season and we have seen lots of runs being scored. The ball would come on to the bat nicely and there would be little margin for error for the bowlers. A score in excess of 160 runs would be required by the side batting first.
Sophia Gardens, Cardiff offers assistance to the bowlers in the initial overs bur the bounce and pace on the surface being true allows the batsmen to play their strokes. Once the batsmen have got their eyes in, they can score runs at this venue. Spinners have enjoyed success here as the ball also generates good turn and bounce.
In the past most teams have done well batting first at this venue. The ball comes on to the bat nicely and allows strong making. The weather conditions is also expected to be well here and thus we believe the side that wins the toss is most likely to bat first and take advantage of the conditions.
The two sides are coming into this game having followed completely different trajectories in the season. Glamorgan after their win against Gloucestershire have been in poor form and have lost the last four games. They are struggling to execute their plans. The Steelbacks on the other hand have won four games enjoy a good record against Glamorgan. This will make them outright favorites to win this game.
