An exciting clash between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad awaits.
Having come through unscathed in a six hitting slugfest against Mumbai Indians at home, the men in Orange would be looking forward to defeating last year’s runners-up away from home.
Gujarat Titans would focus all their effort on sorting out their inconsistencies that cost them dearly in the two matches they’ve played so far. A defeat here would all but condemn them to the bottom half of the table because of their terrible NRR. In their brief IPL history, they’ve not spent too much time down in the bottom.
SRH’s commitment to playing fearless, attacking cricket right through their batting innings will be on display, as they look to move up the table. Will SRH make it three in a row? Will GT knock SRH down from cloud nine?

Gujarat Titans has had a shaky start to this year’s campaign. Stars aligned late for them against Mumbai in the first match, when they resisted a brilliant counterattack from the visitors, especially the top order.
Credit to GT for continuing to stay in the game and putting pressure on the sloppy MI lower order to walk away with a lucky win. But against a dominant CSK at Chepauk, their inefficiencies and inconsistencies shone through.
Top order batsmen Gill and Saha have been unable to get GT off to good starts, putting more pressure on the middle order. Sai Sudarshan, GT’s top scorer, has been a rock but his inability to convert starts into something substantial is a concern. What’s worse, none of the other GT batters have inspired confidence so far.
They need to find a way to build a base through the middle overs, and explode later in the innings. Their bowling hasn’t made up for their batting failure either. And with Rashid Khan not looking a threat anymore and Umesh Yadav and Spencer Johnson going for runs, their bowling is in a spot of bother.
Sai Sudharshan has been the most consistent run-scorer for Gujarat Titans in this season. He scored 45 runs in the first match against Mumbai Indians and in the last match against Chennai Super Kings he scored 37 runs. Given his recent form, we back Sai Sudharshan to score over 23.5 runs in today's match.
Shubman Gill (c), Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Sai Sudharsan, Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Spencer Johnson, Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav/Kartik Tyagi.

Just like their jersey upgrade, Sunrisers Hyderabad have reinvigorated their batting with a new brand of attacking cricket, led by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma at the top and Heinrich Klaasen through the middle.
All three batsmen set the Uppal stadium on fire with some breath-taking six hitting that pushed them to IPL’s highest ever score. Tackling GT at Ahmedabad is a completely different challenge, but SRH won’t back down.
They’ll stay invested in their new belief that playing attacking cricket is their best bet to take down champion teams like Mumbai (last match) and Gujarat now. Aiden Markram rotated the strike well and kept the scoreboard ticking along while ensuring the destructive batsmen were on strike facing bowlers they can dominate.
On the bowling front, Pat Cummins was impressive picking up 2/35 off his 4 overs in a match that saw batsmen annihilate bowlers with spectacular range hitting. Jaydev Unadkat was good, too. But T Natarajan might come back into the fold after missing a match due to a niggle. The spin duo Mayank Markande and Shahbaz Ahmed’s patchy form is an area of concern though.
Travis Head in his first match of the 2024 IPL season smashed 62 runs in 24 balls. The southpaw is in phenomenal form and given the pitch conditions and his current form, we back Travis Head to score over 23.5 runs in today's match.

The pitch tends to slow down a touch and becomes harder to bat on. Not a great sign for players like Head and Klaasen who like it when the ball comes on nicely. Spinners will play their part on this slow and dry surface, if there is no dew, and that’s a big if. The forecast is clear for the match.

Average TurnThe match will be played at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, where both these teams have met once with the hosts coming out winners.
The total aggregate score in the last match played at Ahmedabad is 330 runs. The pitch for todays game is expected to be a lot better than the last one. Both Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad posses power hitters in their ranks and we predict the total aggregate score to be over 356.5 runs.
Batting has been the go-to choice at the toss for most teams here, considering how difficult it gets to bat as the match goes on. In terms of current batting form, both teams will fancy batting over bowling, so expect the winner of the coin toss to have a bat first and put a huge total on board.
It’s hard not to back SRH given the blistering form their batsmen are in at the moment. Their bowling is not up to mark and has some holes, but we reckon their batsmen will come good again and win it against a shaky GT side.
We are backing Sunrisers Hyderabad as the winners of this contest.
