The squad released so far misses some key names from the bowling department such as Aniketh Reddy and Meherdtra Shashank who were among the top performers for Hyderabad last season.

While the middle order looks quite new this season with many crucial names missing from the squad, Hyderabad are still much stronger than Manipur in this contest.

The inexperienced side of Manipur have a long way to go in the domestic circuit. They should be coming into this match with a lot of learnings from their last season. They were bowled out 191 runs against Hyderabad the last time these two teams met.

There will be a new opening pair for Manipur in the VJT this year. While Al Bashid Muhammed continues to be part of the squad, they’ve dropped Narsingh Yadav after his consistent failures at the top.

Skipper L Keishangbam needs to step up and deliver a partnership in the middle order. He failed to rise to the occasion last season. It looks like a balanced overall squad on paper with a couple of all-rounders, wicket-keepers, and 5 bowlers. However, the execution hasn’t been there, and facing a strong opposition like Hyderabad, Manipur would find themselves much behind in the contest.
