ICCT Smashers will be looking to play for pride when they take on Chiayi Swingers in the 13th match of Taipei T-10 Cricket League at Yingfeng Ground in Taipei on Saturday.

In their previous meeting between the two teams, Chiayi Swingers managed to pull off a close win, courtesy splendid performances from Vishwajit S Tawar, Pruthvi More, and Nitish Nair. ICCT Smashers has become the first side to get eliminated from the competition. With the side suffering back-to-back defeats in the tournament, ICCT Smashers will be keen to salvage some pride in their final two matches.

In their previous clash, ICCT Smashers managed to pick up wickets with the new-ball against Chiayi Swingers. After reducing Chiayi Swingers to 27 for 3 after 3.3 overs, ICCT Smashers lost the plot in the final five overs of the innings. The side will need to make better plans in order to stem the flow of runs at the back end of the innings.

For ICCT Smashers, Devang Shah was the standout performer with the bat and claimed two wickets in his two overs. Sandeep Patel and Shrey Doshi claimed one wicket each.

Chasing 100 runs for victory, opening pair of Rajesh Mehta and Devang Shah got the side off to a good start. Mehta and Shah put on a 51-run partnership for the side. Devang Shah contributed well to the team’s cause and scored 23 runs off 16 balls with the help of three boundaries.

For ICCT Smashers, Rajesh Mehta was the standout batsman on display in the previous game. He finished the innings with the top-score of 56 runs off 31 balls with the help of seven fours and one six.

With four runs needed from four balls, ICCT Smashers will rue the fact that they should have closed out the game against Chiayi Swingers.

After losing the toss in the previous game, Chiayi Swingers conceded a lot of runs to see PCCT United post a dominant total of 104 runs in their 10 overs. Nitish Nair and Sidhesh Pilankar conceded more than 10 runs an over in the previous game against PCCT United.

Chasing a big total, Chiayi Swingers failed to get going in their innings and could only post 48 runs in their allotted 10 overs. The premier players like Sidhesh Pilankar, Pruthvi More, and Saurabh Hajari perished for low scores in the previous game.
