Dindigul Dragons beat IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans by 8 wickets
174/2 in 18.3
IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans made it to the playoffs with five wins and only two losses in the group stage. In Qualifier 1, they crushed Chepauk Super Gillies by 79 runs and booked a place in the final with authority.
Tushar Raheja has been the top performer with the bat, scoring 411 runs in eight games at an average of 59 and a strike rate of 189.40. Tiruppur will be counting on him again in the final, especially with the rest of the top order blowing hot and cold.
Amit Sathvik has helped steady things at the top. He has three fifties and a strong 40 in his last four innings, which adds some balance as they go into the decider.
Pradosh Ranjan Paul has chipped in too, scoring 146 runs from six innings with an average of 36.50 and a strike rate of 108.14.
Their bowlers have done a good job picking up wickets across different stages. Sai Kishore has lived up to expectations, going for just 5.50 an over while taking 12 wickets. He should be a good option again to keep things under control. Esakkimuthu A and R Silambarasan have taken 20 wickets together, while T Natarajan has been finding rhythm lately, striking often and keeping things quiet late in the innings.

Defending champions Dindigul Dragons are back in the final after cruising past Trichy Grand Cholas by six wickets in the Eliminator and beating Chepauk Super Gillies by four wickets in Qualifier 2. They’ve picked up momentum late in the tournament and won’t be easy to stop.
Shivam Singh has been in excellent touch with the bat, scoring 327 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 141.55. He’s been the most dependable at the top and will be looked at to deliver again.
Vimal Khumar and captain Ravichandran Ashwin have stepped up with the bat more than once and both are expected to play important roles in the final. Khumar’s 65 off 30 in Qualifier 2 helped Dindigul chase 179 in just 18.4 overs, showing just how important he can be.
Baba Indrajith and Hunny Saini have added runs here and there, but the team will want more stability from them during the middle overs.
Their bowling unit has worked well together. Sandeep Warrier and Ganeshan Periyaswamy have taken 16 wickets between them, while Ravichandran Ashwin has 13 and Varun Chakaravarthy has chipped in with 10, controlling the tempo and breaking stands at the right times.
The skipper of the Dindigul Dragons played a magnificent knock of 83 runs in the eliminator against Trichy and in qualifier 2 he scored 21 runs. Ashwin has scored 296 runs in 9 matches, averaging 34.37. In the one match played against the Tiruppur Tamizhans he scored 18 runs.

NPR College Ground usually produces a fair T20 pitch with enough going on for both batters and bowlers. Scoring gets harder as the match wears on since the surface tends to slow down. Spinners often come into play early and usually take charge during the middle overs. Fast bowlers who take pace off the ball often manage to create chances.
Looking at the weather in Dindigul on Sunday evening, it should be cloudy but the chance of rain appears very low.
The average score batting first at the NPR College Ground is 158. The highest total posted at the venue this season is Lyca Kovai Kings’ 203-6 versus Salem Spartans. We reckon anything above 180 will be competitive in this match.
Out of the seven games played at the NPR College Ground this season, the captain winning the toss has opted to bowl first on six occasions. Since chasing sides have been dominating this season, it looks likely that both captains will look to do exactly that in the final as well.
IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and Dindigul Dragons have shown they can go toe to toe with anyone this season. But based on how things are shaping up, Tiruppur seem better prepared for the final with five wins in a row. They’ve looked more balanced and have already taken down Dindigul once this season. It could go right to the end, but if Tiruppur play to their strengths, they should take the title.
Back IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans to clinch the title.
