India put on a clinical performance against South Africa to win their opening match by 6 wickets. India chased down the total of 228 runs easily against a good South African bowling attack. Rohit Sharma led the chase with an unbeaten 122 runs and played a gem of a knock on testing conditions. MS Dhoni and KL Rahul played useful cameos in the middle partnering Rohit Sharma.

Skipper Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan failed to make an impact with the bat. Indian bowlers were exceptional last match with Jasprit Bumrah bowling an excellent spell in the powerplay getting rid of both South African openers. The wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav came to the fore in middle overs snaring five wickets between them. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was very economical with the ball and took two wickets in the far end of the match. 

Australia will be delighted with their victory against the West Indies after being in a position of 38/4. Steve Smith batted with excellent control and poise amid the continuous fall of wickets around him. He scored 73 runs and was played out the testing conditions early on. Alex Carey played a good hand with his cameo of 45 runs. Nathan Coulter-Nile scored his career-best 92 runs in just 60 balls coming in at No.8 position. Australia eventually ended their innings with a good score of 288 runs. Mitchell Starc was at his best bowling with good pace and rhythm and attacking the batsmen. Starc took five wickets and his wickets at the death sealed the match for Australia. Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa bowled good spells in the middle troubling the batsmen consistently. Skipper Aaron Finch`s rotation of bowlers was very impressive last match and his bowlers responded with wickets at crucial times.
