It will be India versus Bangladesh in the 1st semifinal of Asian Games Men’s T20I 2023. The Indians are the pre-tournament favourites and lived up to the expectations with a convincing win against Nepal in the quarterfinal. It wasn’t the most convincing show but the Bangladeshis, but they defeated Malaysia by a narrow margin.  

Indians have the strongest side in the tournament, with a batting line-up that can destroy any bowling attack. Their batsmen did well in the last game, and they will look to continue with the same show. Bangladesh has a talented group of players, and they must punch above their weight to win this game.

India Preview

It was a text-book win for the Indians against Nepal in the 1st Quarterfinal. They batted well to put up a big score and defended it successfully. They will face a more formidable challenge from the Bangladeshis in this game, and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad would like his players to continue with the same form and reach the next round.     
 
Yashasvi Jaiswal is in the form of his life and shall look to lay a strong platform with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top. They have a solid middle order and expect a good show from Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma, and Shivam Dube. Rinku Singh, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, and Washington Sundar make it a formidable batting line-up in the lower middle order.  

The new ball pair of Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan went for runs in the last game, and they have to bowl better lines in this game. The side will expect a good show from Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore and Ravi Bishnoi in the middle overs. Sundar and Dube, with their experience complete a strong attack for the team.

Saif Hassan’s side had a scare against Malaysia. They would have lost the game, but for the heroics of Afif Hossain in the last over, where he defended 5 runs successfully. It will be a tougher battle against India, and the Bangladeshi skipper would like a better show with the bat from his top order.  

Parvez Hossain Emon, Zakir Hasan, and Mahmudul Hasan Joy didn’t trouble the scorers in the last game, and the side will need a confident start from them. Sai Hassan must hold the middle order together and add runs with Zakir Hasan and Afif Hossain. Jaker Ali and Shahadat Hossain must deliver the goods in the lower middle order to take the side to a respectable total.  

The side will need an excellent performance from their bowling attack in this game. Ripon Mondol and Saif Hassan must do well with the new ball, as the Indian batters will come hard at them. Afif Hossain bowled a brilliant spell in the last game, and he must keep the scoring rate under check in the middle overs with Rakibul Hasan. Rishad Hossain and Sumon Khan must do well in the supporting role.
