The series opener at Eden Gardens was supposed to be a tight affair which would setup the rest of the series to be a close contest but it could not have been any further from what we saw on Wednesday evening with India crushing England with both bat and ball. In fact, India getting over the line with 43 balls remaining created an unwanted record for England in this format!
As ever, the BazBall England approach is to shrug off any setback by repeating their commitment to their attacking approach in any format of cricket and that could certainly lead to an exciting second match of the series. Will England be able to inflict a heavy defeat of their own or will India find England just as easy to knock over in Chennai?
The weather is set fine for Saturday evening and we could well see a similarly spin-friendly wicket at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium which will surely only be good news for the hosts.
Too good with the ball followed by too strong with the bat was the story of India's victory over England at Eden Gardens on Wednesday evening and Suryakumar Yadav will be looking to follow a similar script down in Chennai on Saturday night!
Spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the only member of the bowling attack to go wicketless in the opening game but even he returned excellent T20 figures of 0/22 from his four overs. He will be a threat once again in Tamil Nadu but so will his spin colleagues Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy. Then there is also Arshdeep Singh, who dismissed Phil Salt with the third ball of the game and returned to get Ben Duckett out in his next over and he remains one of the best new ball bowlers in T20I cricket.
With the bat, the explosive top three of Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav are all expected to take the attack to England's bowlers from the opening over of India's innings.
Samson scored 26 runs in 20 balls and provided a solid start to the Indian run-chase in the last match. The wicket keeper batter is in good touch and has racked up three hundreds in the last five T20I's.
Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 19 runs in the 1st T20I at Kolkata. He has been in prolific form in the last couple of series and given his ability to score runs on two paced surfaces, we back Tilak Varma to have good outing in today's match.

Only captain Jos Buttler (68 runs from 44 balls), Harry Brook (17 runs from 14 balls) and Jofra Archer (12 runs from ten balls) managed to contribute a score in double figures for England on Wednesday and that will be a huge area of concern for the team management.
The batters looked pretty clueless when it came to facing Varun Chakravarthy and they will have to devise a plan pretty quickly if they are not going to find themselves spun into trouble once more here in Chennai.
This England batting line-up does bat all the way down to number 11 but they will need to ensure they are not relying on their lower order in this match.
With the ball, Jofra Archer was a class above the rest on Wednesday and we expect his variations to be used a great deal on this pitch to get the most out of it.
Brook got off to a good start in the 1st T20I, where he scored 17 runs in 14 balls and played spin pretty well, before edging one back onto the stumps. He is a pretty consistent run-scorer in the middle order for England and we anticipate Brook to play an impactful knock in today's match.

According to the forecast, it will get progressively more humid across Saturday evening but it will be already over 65% at the start of the game. Clear skies with the temperature over 25 degrees throughout.

High TurnThere is always something for the spin bowlers at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium and we expect this to be no different on Saturday evening. Both teams will look to play positively but in the knowledge that a score of 175 in the first innings is likely to be competitive.
The pitch at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai offers a balanced track that favours the spinners. The England batters did struggle against the Indian spin attack and which should set up for another moderate to low scoring encounter in today's match.
This will be only the third T20I to take place in Chennai and the first since India beat West Indies by six wickets in 2018! After seeing how easily India chased down the target at Eden Gardens and with the conditions unlikely to change much across the evening we predict that both captains will want to bowl first.
Although it would be a surprise if England were as poor, particularly with the bat, again in this game, India can also go up a few more levels so it is the visitors who need to improve on a huge scale. We do not expect that to happen so are predicting another home victory.
We are backing India to win!
